Fear Factory comes as one of the nicest surprises in the industrial metal. In their Soul Of A New Machine,
they still had traces of dead metal, but in this one we can almost forget about that. They have changed the gruesome dead
voice to a softer growl, but Burton C. Bell still shouts like hell. The guitars are more sterile than ever, with new synth
elements. The opening track, "Demanufacture", gives a perspective of what the album is going to be like. First a synth
intro, and then Raymond Herrera's double- bass drums make way to powerful, dry guitars. The second track
"Self Bias Resistor" is more melodic, with Bell's clear voice. "Replica", also, has a stunning mix of guitars and
drums with the vocalist voice, sometimes hoarse, sometimes clean and beatiful. "New Breed" has a drum beat that will pin
you to the floor. After that, the cover "Dog Day Sunrise" gives us a melodic pause. With "Body Hammer" and "Flashpoint"
we come back to the beat-them-to-pulp riffs. In "H-K (Hunter-Killer)" they weakened a little, for this one isn't as highlighted
as the others. "Pisschrist" may be their best song to date, with half of the song in a harsh metal style and the other
part in superb clear voice. The last track, "A Therapy For Pain", was a failure in trying to make a melodic outro. The
lirycs lacked wit and Bell's voice didn't save the song.
NOTE: The digipack contains four extra tracks:
12.-Your Mistake 13.-¡Resistancia! 14.-New Breed (Revolutionary Designed Mix) 15.-Replica (Electrip Sheep Mix)
