Background/History:
Although the Professor’s first recorded appearance was in the 1940s, rumor has it that his origins lie in the distant past, all the way back to the time of DaVinci. Supposedly, there was a man obsessed with the occult and demonology to the exclusion of all else. His entire life was wrapped around magic spells and mysticism. As the story goes, a wounded shadow demon escaped from certain defeat from a battle with an angel to the material plane. Detecting the energies of the out of place demon, he found it hidden in the mountains of Italy. He offered to aid the demon, but his true intention was to study and, perhaps, steal it’s energies. The creature had little choice, but to accept. Tricking the demon into revealing it’s true name, he stole it’s power and it’s life. He spent decades cataloguing and mastering his new abilities until the world became engulfed in an evil that he could thrive in. That time came with Mussolini and the Nazis. He helped found the original Midnight Club and is best known for kidnapping and torturing White to the brink of insanity. Escaping the final battle of WW 2, he went underground for a time and resurfaced with a new Midnight Club in the 1950s battling the Liberty Squad many times. Following their final defeat at the hands of the Squad, he simply disappeared and has not been heard from since.
Personality/Motivations:
Almost more interested in the knowledge of evil than deriving pleasure simply by being evil, he is responsible for countless heinous acts and his only motivation seems to have been learning more ways to do evil.
