Alter Ego:
Elaine Marloe Jordan
Occupation: Archaeologist, Adventurer
Known Relatives: Clark & Lois Marloe Parents, deceased Jack Jordan Husband
Group Affiliation: The Knights of Freedom
Base of Operations: The Freedom Tower, Washington, DC

Background/History:
Elaine was used to traveling the world with her archeologist parents from one dig to another growing up. On a dig in Africa, the twelve year old stepped on a weak spot and went tumbling into an unknown cavern. Her parents frantically got ladders to get down to her. Miraculously, given the drop, she was uninjured. She was sitting there with a carving of a lynx in her hands. Her father called it her good luck charm. After a few years, her parents retired from the field and became curators of a museum in Boston. Elaine worked with them as an assistant curator. Working late one evening, they heard robbers breaking in to steal valuables. Her parents stumbled into the robbers and they were murdered. Hearing the gunshots, Elaine ran toward the sound and saw the robbers standing over the corpses of her beloved parents. She bolted and ran with the criminals at her heels. The hoodlums cornered her, she went to reach for a weapon, but the carving of the lynx magically appeared in her hand. Instead of fighting with her, one of the hoods shot her, they left her for dead, and they began to loot the museum. As she felt her life slipping away, the lynx began to glow, healing her wounds and transforming her. The robbers were preparing to leave with their plunder when they heard strange guttural growling coming from the shadows. The next morning, Elaine told the police that she found her parents shot to death and these men with guns and bags of stolen items seeming ripped to shreds as if by some sort of animal. The police were stumped and Elaine sadly took over as the curator in her parents’ place. At the funeral, she decided to use these new abilities to keep others from feeling the sense of loss that she had. By day, she was the respected museum curator. At night, she prowled the streets seeking those who would do evil. The Thunder Family came to Boston with Bullet Boy hot on their heels and Lynx assisted him in his battle. When Dr. Solomon started to put together the Knights of Freedom, he immediately thought of Lynx and invited her to join. She continued with them until the last final battle of the war when she was injured to the point of retiring to her museum career. She married, had children, and had a perfectly normal life. There was no sign of any powers in her children.

Personality/Motivations:
A studious and inquisitive child, she intended to continue in her parent’s footsteps as an archeologist. The death of her parents and her acquisition of powers temporarily led her down another path, but following the terrible toll of that last battle, she was more than content to go back to her originally planned normal life.
