Background/History:
Kevin was a typical boy growing up in Phily, but he had a bit of a rebellious
streak. He wanted to be a policeman and excelled in all of the skills necessary,
but he had no patience for the subtleties of the law. He still wanted to help
people, but in a less structured manner, so he became a Private Investigator. He
was hired by a Professor Dixon Stevens to protect himself and his discoveries.
The Professor believed he was being followed and that his home had been
searched. Kevin was skeptical, but saw signs that there might be something to
it, especially after he revealed that he had sent a batch of documents detailing
his experiments to the government. He was working on a lightweight force field
generator that had accidentally created invisibility and desolidification
properties. When he had gained a level of confidence in Kevin, he demonstrated
the apparatus by strapping the small unit on Kevin’s chest and pushing the
button. Kevin was surrounded by a force field and by adjusting the device became
invisible and desolid. Suddenly, the lights went out and a team of masked men
burst in guns blazing. The Professor was hit before Kevin could get to him. He
became solid and fought back, but the team of intruders managed to escape. The
Professor confided to Kevin that the schematics were all in his head and the
prototype was the only one. Despite his efforts at rendering aid, the professor
died there in his lab. The dilemma for Kevin was what to do next, since calling
the authorities would not help Stevens and, if the killers were from the
government, would only serve to put him in danger. So, he kept the device and
dedicated it’s use for good to the memory of Prof. Stevens. He gained a good
reputation for getting the job done as both a PI and a superhero and joined the
Attack Legion.
Personality/Motivations:
Kevin always had a definite opinion on right and wrong, but once he discovered
that the law could be manipulated and ignored, he decided to find a way to help
people and see justice done without those constraints. The worst drawback of his
character is that he is rarely wrong and doesn’t take it well when he is.
