Keeper of Infinite Earths - Attack Legion

Created by Bob Justice

Lodestone
Alter Ego: Lori Wilkes
Occupation: Artist-sculptor
Known Relatives: Eugene & Cheryl Wilkes, parents
Group Affiliation: The Attack Legion
Base of Operations: Philadelphia, PA
Background/History:
Her parents were wealthy from his banking and her antique business, so Lori grew
up rather sredhelte in prestigious private schools. Her love of the arts was
encouraged by her parents who could easily afford to indulge her talents. She
seemed a perfectly normal, bright, and happy girl, until odd things began to
happen around her. She couldn’t wear a watch because none would keep the right
time for her. Metal objects were drawn to her and, as she aged, the attraction
grew steadily stronger. Her parents realized that she was possibly a mutant and
quietly contacted Dr. Whyte. He examined her and confirmed their suspicions.
Although he strongly encouraged. her parents to have her enroll in his school,
they refused to let their young daughter leave home. So, he gave them a pendant
that he felt would neutralize her magnetic powers until she was old enough to
train. It did the job for a while, but her powers grew. The pendant, whether
intentionally or not, acted to focus her power and she gained a tremendous
amount of control, mastering her powers on her own. She used her powers mostly
to shape her sculptures, but after an attack by the mutant hating Sterilizers,
she found that she had great offensive and defensive capabilities. She decided
at that point to use her powers for good and to be a role model for mutants and
took the codename Lodestone. She gained enough of a reputation that she was
invited to join the Attack Legion and continues with them today.
Personality/Motivations:
Raised in a conservative, old-money guilt home, Lori felt a responsibility to
contribute to the world. Originally, she did it through her art and now, as a
super-heroine, by serving as a good example for mutants everywhere.
Quote: "I don’t intend to attract trouble, it just
works out that way."
