Electrode
Alter Ego: Peter Morris
Occupation: Department Store Asst. Manager, Super Hero
Known Relatives: Ted and Gail Morris-parents, Terri Morris-sister
Group Affiliation: Northern Light
Base of Operations: Toronto, Ontario Canada
Background/History:
Dr. Archibald Runyon was a huge fan of the work of the famous Dr. Koloff and
devoted his life and fortune to re-creating Koloff’s work. In his quest, he
ended up working in Canada on the ill-fated project that trained Photon Queen
and Image. Runyon was thought to have died, but went underground having stolen
various data from the project in the confusion. He became convinced he could
duplicate the formula that created Spark’s powers since he had stolen samples
of her DNA. Peter worked out at the gym after work and he was approached one
evening by Runyon who pretended to be an artist seeking a model to pose. After
assuring him that it was on the level, Peter agreed to meet him at his studio,
actually his laboratory. Upon entering the door, Runyan used a tazer to knock
him out. When he awoke, he was restrained in a vat of chemicals and Runyon
explained that he had been chosen to become a super powered being. When Peter
laughed, Runyon threw the switch sending hundreds of volts into the chemical
stew. Arcs of electricity shot from the tank and Runyon realized things were out
of control, but there was nothing he could do. The entire lab was filled with
lightning, fire, and smoke. When the vat cracked, there was a huge explosion.
The firemen found Peter surprisingly unharmed and the corpse of Dr. Runyon. The
government was notified and swooped in to take control. Although the materials
and his computers were damaged, the took everything away and gave Peter numerous
tests. He had gained the ability to generate electrical bursts, a force field,
and he could fly. They also built a wand that he could focus his electrical
blast though to achieve different and controlled effects. In return, he agreed
to join Northern Light as the hero known as Electrode.
Personality/Motivations:
Peter had no intention of being a hero, he just intended to have a normal life.
He still clings to the job he holds as an attempt to pretend to be normal,
although he knows it is no longer an option. He does the best he can to use his
powers wisely and to save lives because he figures he has them for a reason, he
would just rather not have them in the first place.
