Background/History: The art of white magic had been practiced in Lawrence's family for generations. It was taught to his father by his grandfather who in turn learned it from his great grandfather and so forth through the years. And now it was taught to him.
It was family tradition to use this art to battle the forces of evil and protect the world from the powers of darkness. And this mantle of defender was passed down to each generation with the teaching of the spellcraft.
And so it was that the mantle of head Lanterson was passed on to Lawrence with the responsibilities of using his great power in the defence of the world. Lawrence, like his forefathers before him, became a stage magician to better conceal his powers and not attract any undue attention from superstitious and narrow minded people.
Over the years Lawrence discovered he enjoyed keeping a higher profile that any Lanterson before him, hanging around and working with other superhero's. He even went so far as to help found the New York team of hero's known as the Super Sentinels and serves faithfully as one of it's members to this day.
Personality/Motivation: Lawrence's use of magical forces has taught him an extreme sense of caution that carries over into anything he does. He will not rush head first into a potentially dangerous situation but instead prefers to consider all the possible angle of the dilemma.
Lawrence enjoys a very extravagant and expensive life-style indulging in many of life's pleasures. Yet will never let his soft life-style cloud his action in tough situations.
