The Screaming Fire Bow:
This bow appears to be a standard long bow made out of what appears
to be a tarnished silver colored wood. What the bow is really constructed
from, no one knows but it is likely it is in reality some form of lightweight
metal due to the fact the weapon weights about as much as an average long
bow.. The bow appears to be without a string and without even notches for
a string. Along the front and back of the bow runs black runes which gives
a strong clue to what the weapon really is. The bow is a powerful rune
weapon that there are few equals of and when the bow is used, the black
runes glow bright red and a flaming bowstring and arrow will appear. The
head of the arrow looks like and eagles head and screams as launched (HF
10). This bow cannot fire normal arrows.
The personality in the bow is that of a male Elven adventure named Erdel
Lenora. He will use telepathy to tell the wielder great stories and he
loves to talk. He will tell them as well that he is from the Palladium
World from before the destruction of the Old Kingdom and he got old but
wished to continue adventuring. A magic weapon smith offered to put his
spirit in the weapon so that he could continue to adventure and that is
how he ended up in the weapon. He is very choosy about who he wishes to
be carried and generally chooses other Elven adventurers and the person
must of a good alignment. While this will not stop him from bonding to
males, he is a bit of a ladies man and likes bonding to females.

Like all Rune Weapons it is completely indestructible
Can be used like a Quarterstaff to inflict 4D6 SDC / MDC (SDC in SDC
game systems and MDC in MDC game systems)
Can be used to parry energy blasts at -6
Links to wielder within 6 months of constant contact
Gives wielder +1 on all saving throws.
Can only be used by a person of good alignment, anybody not of good
alignment takes 1D8 S.D.C each time they touch the weapon. The weapon does
3D6 M.D.C. to Mega Damage creatures.
Special Abilities:
- Immunity to fire:
While the wielder is using the bow (cannot
just be carried), the person is completely immune to all fire attacks including
magical fire and plasma weapons. While this is active, the being is surrounded
by a very low intensity orange glow.
- Fire Screaming Fire Arrows:
Whenever the person grabs where
the bow string is and draws back, a flaming bow string and a flaming arrow
with the head of a bird of prey (Eagle / Hawk). This is a fearsome sight
and when the bow is fired all seeing this (who are not used to it) must
make a saving throw against a horror factor of ten. There is an unlimited
number of these arrows that can be fired in one day.

Damage / Effects: 6D6 SDC / MDC (SDC in SDC game systems and
MDC in MDC game systems) plus has a horror factor of 10.

- Fire Super Screaming Fire Arrows:
A few times per day the
archer may chose to fire super powerful arrows that are very similar to
the standard arrows. They also have heads of birds of prey but appear even
larger (Horror factor of twelve if this is the first arrow fired). The
shooter simply needs to concentrate on firing a super arrow if it is desired.
Range: 800 feet (244 meters)
Damage / Effects: 2D6x10 SDC / MDC (SDC in SDC game systems
and MDC in MDC game systems) plus has a horror factor of 12.
Rate of Fire: Equal to archers number of attacks per melee with
bow
Payload: Four times per day (24 hours).
- Fire Screaming Fire Eagle Arrows:
Up to four times per day,
the archer can chose to fire flaming arrows that when they leave the bow
they become flaming birds of prey that will attack any enemies of the wielder.
These birds will keep attacking until they are destroyed, until the duration
elapses, or until the archer dismisses the flaming birds. These birds are
even scarier that the normal arrows and have a horror factor of 14. The
wielder simply needs to concentrate on firing these type of arrows to fire
them.
Duration: 15 minutes
Statistics of the Fire Eagle:
35 SDC / MDC, immune to all fire and plasma based weapons, takes half
damage from all energy weapons, but water and cold based weapons inflict
double damage. Bite inflicts 2D4 SDC / MDC damage, slashing claws inflicts
2D6+4 MDC / SDC damage, diving claw attack inflicts 4D6+4 SDC / MDC but
counts as 2 attacks. Four attacks per melee, +2 to strike, +2 to Parry,
+3 to Dodge (Automatic Dodge - does not cost an attack). Speed is 75 mph
(120 km). The fire Eagle also has a horror factor of 14. (For damage and
ability to inflict damage, use SDC in SDC game systems and MDC in MDC game
systems)
