Almost every Christion realizes that the second coming of Christ is near, and that the fulfillment of 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 is at hand. What most people don't know is that even as john the Baptist foreran the first coming of our Lord, there must come a prophet having the spirit of Elijah who will forerun Christ's second coming. In Malachi 4, where it talks of the end of the world. God said, "Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." (Mal. 4:5-6)

The man whouse picture appears with a pillar of fire over his head at the photograph at the top, is Brother William Branham, the man that God has chose to come in this age with the power of Elijah to forerun the second coming of Christ. this absolutely genuine, photograph is in the Library Of Congress in Washington, D.C. This photograph was taken by Mr. Ayers of Houston, Texas, in 1950, at the behest of a clergyman who was hostile to Brother Branham,s ministry. When he developed the roll of film that contained this picture, he found that the entire roll was blank except for this amazing photograph of the supernaural. The negative was turned over to George J. Lacey, an Examiner of Questiond Documents who worked for the F.B.I. Mr Lacey examined the negative in his laboratory and pronounced it absolutely genuine...the pillar of light struck the negatve.

Understandably, William Branham was troubled about his peculiar life. In early May 1946, feeling that he desperately needed to hear from God, he retreated to a cabin in the woods and earnestly sought the Lord for understanding. Finally during the night of May 7, 1946, the same pillar of fire that was photographed above the head of Brother Branham appeared in the otherwise dark cabin. Fear gripped his heart as he heard footsteps. Then a man, clothed in white, appeared in the cabin and spoke thes words: "Fear not, I am sent from the presence of Almighty God to till you that your strange life and misunderstood ways have been to indicate that God has sent you to take a gift of divine healing to the people of the world. If you will be sincere, and can get the people to believe you, nothing shall stand befor your prayer, not even cancer.

The angel then explained to him about his past and told him of the future. The angel also told him that even as Moses was given two signs to prove that he was sent from God (Ex. 4:1-8), so he would be given two signs. First, he would be able to diagnose diseases by their vibrations, which would cause his hand to swell. If the swelling in his hand went down after he prayed, he could say 'Thus sath the Lord, you are healed.' The second sign that was given to him was that it would come to pass that he would be able to descern the very secrets of men's hearts (Heb. 4:12, Jn. 2:24-25).

Millions of people bear record that the words of the angel were fulfilled exacty (as in Acts 27:21-25). As the sign in his hand was manifested, which was seen would raise peoples's faith to be healed, his ministry grew nationwide, then worldwide. Then it came to where the Spirit of Christ would reveal to him the very thoughts of peoples's hearts (as in Gen. 18:9-15, 2 Kings 6:8-12, Jn. 4:17-19)...reveal their needs; and reveal all sins; reveal things about their lives that Brother Branham of himself couldn't possibly know. Things prophesied of actually enacted befor his open eyes (Joel 2:28). And out of the hundreds of thousands of times all over the world, the words spoken to total strangers never failed to be exactly the truth (Dt. 18:21-22). And the prophecies of healing, and of future events both small and great and thousands and thousands of times not one was even partly worong, for this prophet of God spoke only 'Thus Saith The Lord'.
