Joining the armed forces at age 18 (yr 2005), Calvin has known the life of a
military man from the get-go. After seeing an old flick, Top Gun, he had
always wanted to be a pilot and fly the friendly skies for his country.
Being a part of the air force was something he was proud of. Then on a
regular patrol mission flight in the gulf, he saw something he had never
truly come to terms with, until he met the Shadow Guard. There, a
swarm of what looked to be enormous birds attacked his chopper, sending him
and his crew earthbound. Maintaining control of the helicopter long
enough for a shaky touchdown, he managed to keep everyone alive. The
soldiers and himself exited the chopper, only to be accosted by the monsters
which made them crash-land in the first place. Running as well as fighting
for their lives, the team of 8 was thinned to a team of barely 4, all
barely able to continue on due to their extensive wounds.
Calvin suffered from cranial ocular wounds. One of the monsters had basically ripped his eyes out. Given a leave of absence, the military sent him home due to his physical as well as mental wounds. That was when he was taken in by the Shadow Guard. They told him of the monsters which attacked him, as well as nursed him back to health. His eyes were beyond saving, so the Shadow Guard implanted new eyes for him, cyber eyes. The eyes are silver, showing their mechanical nature, and have the ability to see very clearly in the night. But his night vision is much like regular goggles, it is has a green hue to him, but it is like seeing in the daytime. The SG also were training him about the DOs as well as giving his wings back. He found out the things that destroyed his chopper were called Harpies. Calvin studied up on them, wanting to make sure he knew about them in order to protect himself against them if he should ever meet one again. |

His eyes have the
ability to see in the night (night vision) very well, but it is like most
night vision goggles. Only, he doesn't have the hardware on his head,
rather in his head. It also has an anti-dazzle safe guard.
