In the secret labs of the Shadow Guard, certain experiments are conducted
in order to make the ultimate soldier. Under advisement of the Trenchcoats,
the scientists were ordered to make a soldier who was super quick, agile,
strong, and had no emotion get in the way of their fighting. Knowing this
task was difficult to fulfill by normal methods, the scientists began
experimenting with Dark One genetics, splicing and uniting components
very unnatural. If word got to the Trenchcoats of these experiments, the
leaders of the Shadow Guard would most likely terminate everyone involved.
So it is kept hush... but not for long...
During their experiments, the scientists had discovered an unidentified
creature. They were unable to determine what the creature was and could
only surmise that it could not have been earthly (unknown to them, it was
a demon drone, low on the pecking order of demonkind but quite dangerous to
humans). The lead director ordered the scientists to see if the DNA of
this creature could be grafted to human DNA to create a new breed of
transgenics. Early results were unsuccessful, with the transgenics either
being insane or dying off too quickly due to DNA rejection. It took an entire
year before they had their first success: the transgenic designated
804, named Hawke by the chief scientist.
Hawke was quickly immersed into the training program, where it was
discovered that he learned at a faster rate than the other transgenics
and that he possessed abilities to a higher degree to his predecessors,
not to mention abilities none of them possessed. Additionally,
but
despite his intelligence and creative thinking, he had no desire
leave the SG, and was more than willing to serve them.
Eventually, the Trenchcoats got word of the cross-breeds and were furious.
The whole purpose of the Shadow Guard was to rid the world of Dark Ones,
not continue their DNA through humans. The Trenchies set out to terminate
the project. Some scientists were concerned with the quick destruction
of their project due to the fact they had used their own DNA to make some
of the crossbreeds and had raised them as their own children. In attempt to
hide the crossbreeds, some of the experiments were hidden in the outside
world.
It was discovered that Hawke was capable of recapturing or eliminating other
transgenics, he was reassigned to a retrieval team. During the first assignment
with the group, they learned the flaw in their perfect
machine--while on a hunt, he would kill anyone who got in his way,
including his teammates, whom he deemed too slow or incompetent to
complete the mission. From that time on, he was sent alone.
While not hunting transgenics or committing any other jobs for the Shadow
Guard,Hawke is usually alone studying books on philosophy (particularly those
of Sun Tzu, Douglas MacArthur, and Machiavelli) as well as learning new
combat techniques. He has been observed talking to himself, speaking an
unknown language which has the scientists a little concerned...
