Derek and I started out on our trip out west around 8:00 today. We had pretty much packed everything the night before. Our trip started with clear skies and the promise of good driving weather. We reached the cliffs of LaCrosse and were in Minnesota around 10:30 AM. Almost immediately the landscape began to change with fewer hills and trees. We drove straight through Minnesota, as anyone can understand, and reached Sioux Falls, our first stop, around 3:30. We didn’t have any trouble finding our hotel but did have a hard time reaching it because of the road construction. We had a nice room at the Best Western Ramkota Hotel. There was a small outdoor pool and a large kiddy pool indoors. Derek and I spent most of the evening swimming. He made a friend, Sara, and they played around for a while. We even splurged a little and ordered a pizza for supper. Derek ate half a pizza!
