This year the celebrations went for a week with Rhythm and Booms on June 28
in Madison, the Witwen celebration on July 4, Fire on the River on July 5 in
Prairie du Sac, and Fireworks (Sparks on the Creek) at home. Here is a snippet of the goings on.
Here is the house all
decorated for the 4th.
One last jump before we go to Rhythm and Booms
How about a game? Let's play "Spot the Sprechers"
at Warner Park and help me get back to my family.
Time
for a break from the festivities and before the fireworks show.
A
sample of the Grand Finale at Rhythm and Booms. And yes, I stole this
picture because mine didn't turn out well, but they are this good.
Now
it's time to turn our attention to the Witwen Fourth of July Celebration.
Here is the traditional Living Flag.
Derek
and the Culver's Mascot. Funny he didn't melt on such a hot day!
Normally,
they just drive the tractors down the parade route.
It
wouldn't be Wisconsin without the Packer Backers.
Derek
teamed up with cousin Claire Schneller for the candy haul. Josh Schneller
is in the chair in the background.
Derek
met up with some of his friends in Witwen. Here he is with Sophie.
The
Chicken Dinner is still a big hit after the parade. Here is the local
community serving it up.
Cooking
the chicken is hot work.
Thanks to Mike Enge and
others, the masses were well fed.
Ending
the day with some roman candles at home.
