King James Version 1611, 1769
The Key of David, a dual prophecy.
Eliakim, a type of Christ.
Isa 22:19 And I will drive thee from thy station, and from thy state shall he
pull thee down.
Isa 22:20 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will call my servant
Eliakim the son of Hilkiah:
Isa 22:21 And I will clothe him with thy robe, and strengthen him with thy
girdle, and I will commit thy government into his hand: and he shall be a father
to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.
Isa 22:22 And the key of the house of David will I lay upon
his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none
shall open.
Isa 22:23 And I will fasten him [as] a nail in a sure place; and he shall be for
a glorious throne to his father's house.
Isa 22:24 And they shall hang upon him all the glory of his father's house, the
offspring and the issue, all vessels of small quantity, from the vessels of
cups, even to all the vessels of flagons.
Isa 22:25 In that day, saith the LORD of hosts, shall the nail that is fastened
in the sure place be removed, and be cut down, and fall; and the burden that
[was] upon it shall be cut off: for the LORD hath spoken [it].

Revelation Chapter 3
Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things
saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that
openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Rev 3:7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia
write; These things saith he that is *holy [*This is refering
to things said by God, through Christ, to John, for the church of Philadelphia.
Rev 1:1, 4:8.] he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that
openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; [Note
Philadelphia is the only church found 'without blemish']
Rev 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door,
and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word,
and hast not denied my name.
Rev 3:8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before
thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little
strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name [Notice
a thing is declared to Philadelphia which is confirmed with no other church as a
whole, but only to some individually in other of the seven churches, [e.g. Rev
3:4], that He that has the "Key of David" has opened a door that no
man can close. The reason's why this "door" has been
"opened" to the church of Philadelphia are apparent in this verse. The
significance of this special 'opening' should soon become apparent
as well]
Rev 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are
Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship
before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee. [An
interesting verse, for another time perhaps]
Rev 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep
thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try
them that dwell upon the earth.
Rev 3:10 Because thou [the
church of Philadelphia] hast kept the word of my patience [This
being the reason[s], see vs. 8 also], I also will keep thee from the
hour of temptation [the reward, Luk 21:36, 2Th 1:7-12], which shall come
upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth [The
"hour of temptation" refers directly to the "wrath [of] satan",
[Rev 12:12, Rev 17:12. Comp. to James 1:12 Blessed [is] the man that
endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of
life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.]
Rev 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man
take thy crown.
Rev 3:12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my
God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God,
and the name of the city of my God, [which is] new Jerusalem, which cometh down
out of heaven from my God: and [I will write upon him] my new name.
While all churches [and certain individuals, i.e. those who did not accept the
mark of the beast] are offered a reward should they "overcome",
only the church of Philadelphia is offered passage through a "[door
that] he openeth, and no man shutteth;, to be kept from [i.e.,
removed prior to] satan's "hour of temptation, ...which shall come upon all
the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth (Rev 3:10)".
The signifigance of "[the door that] he shall shut, and
none shall open" refers to the beginning of the wrath of satan, when
the Christians, and imho, all mankind, commonly called "those left
behind" will 'be tried' [Rev 3:10, Dan 12:10, many other occurances, e.g., Isa
55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
