"Man, mortal, bound to the finite, unable even to comprehend
the wallpaper that is his galaxy, yet he attempts to become as God,
  in creating himself."

 Theophilus 3/12/01

Could the "Tree of Knowledge of  Good & Evil" be God's book of human genetic
makeup (genome), supposedly just recently completely mapped by scientists,
who now wish to clone mankind, to "be as gods".

Theophilus 3/12/01

Genesis 2

9
And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is
*pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also
in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

Genesis 3

1
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which
the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea,
hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of
the trees of the garden:
3
But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden,
God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
[ "which is in the midst" shows a separation of "serpent & tree",
demonstrating that the serpent & the tree are not one & the same,
       as some would purport. ]
4
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
[ this suggests the book offers "life" ]

5
For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof,
then your eyes shall be opened,
and *ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6
And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food,
and that it was *pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to
be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof,
and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7
And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked;
and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Daniel 8

23

And in the latter time of their kingdom,
when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance,
and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

Daniel 11

37

Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women,
nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
38
But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces:
and a god whom his fathers knew not
[ "a god his fathers knew not", possibly cloning? ]
shall he honour with gold,
and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.

Daniel 11:39  Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god,
whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory:
and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.
