Who are the "Sons of God" mentioned in the Old Testament?

Job 1:6
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them 7And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

First, Are these "sons of God" ordinary men like you & I?  Do ordinary men present themselves in the physical presence of God?

Second, was this meeting on earth, God asked him ""Where have you come from?"  we are told that satan 'came from' the earth to attend. 

Lastly, God asks Job in 38:4 "Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. 

In context you see this is speaking of a time before mankind...Yet the sons of God are already shown to be in existence...

Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

By rightly dividing the word, one would learn the difference between the angels, called "sons of God" at every occurrence in the Old Testament, and much later mortal man receiving the adoption , becoming "sons of God" in a spiritual sense in the New Testament... Men are never referred to as "sons of God" until the New Testament, then only after the coming of the Holy Spirit...

Galatians 4:4But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Now, understanding this, lets see what Gen 6, Enoch 7, 2Peter 2 and Jude are truly saying, Going by what is actually written...

Enoch 7:1It happened after the sons of men had multiplied in those days, that daughters were born to them, elegant and beautiful. 2And when the angels,  the sons of heaven, beheld them, they became enamoured of them, saying to each other, Come, let us select for ourselves wives from the progeny of men, and let us beget children.

Genesis 6:1And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Enoch 7:10Then they took wives, each choosing for himself; whom they began to approach, and with whom they cohabited; teaching them sorcery, incantations, and the dividing of roots and trees.11And the women conceiving brought forth giants,

Genesis 6:4There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

2Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

Jude 6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.

 

Here`s why we came here...

 Luke 17:26 And as it was in the days of Noe{*Noah}, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
