When we got to the top of the avalanche tube, the mountain opened and we stood in a gap about twenty feet high and eight feet wide which allowed us to look through to the north, but we could go no further. After shooting this picture of Centennial Peak, Dechen and I immediately descended for a few minutes and soon found a solid passage to the west, up and out of the rot of the avalanche tube. She followed me through a couple of turns before we climbed onto the solid rock of the upper shoulder. From here, we called Chödön and Kirk to follow. It was an easy five minute walk to the summit...
