Secrets of the Gym Leaders

Pokedex Pick:
If you study a Gym Leader's techniques before every match, you can choose the best Pokemon to battle his or her Pokemon.

Almost every major town or city in the world has a Pokemon gym. Each gym has a leader who is an expert Pokemon trainer. If you battle and defeat each of the Gym Leader's Pokemon, you earn a badge. Most gyms speacialize in training Pokemon of one specific element. For example, the gym in Pewter City is dedicated to Rock Pokemon. There are eight world-famous gyms. Here's a basic rundown of the need-to-know info on each of them:

1) Pewter City Gym
Gym Leader:
BROCK
Brock rocks! As leader of the Pewter City Gym, he's tough to beat. Brock spent years running the gym and taking care of this ten younger brothers and sisters while his father was traveling far and wide as a Pokemon trainer. Now it's Brock's turn. Brock's dad, Flint, is back, and Brock has joined fellow trainers, Ash Ketchum and Misty on their journey to be great Pokemon trainers. He uses the experience he gained raising his siblings to raise Pokemon. Because he's older and more experienced than Misty and Ash, he gives them a lot of advice. He also knows how to keep Ash's temper and determination from getting out of hand.
Brock's goal is to be the World's Greatest Pokemon Breeder. He hopes to learn everything he can about raising all the different kinds of Pokemon. He'd rather take care of them than use them for battle. In fact, Brock is taking a little study break on the Ornage Islands to get some intense experience caring for the Pokemon there.
