Metapod won't be in this form for a long time. But Caterpie needs to spend as a Metapod before it can turn into a beautiful Butterfree. Just like a caterpillar in a cocoon, it can't move. Be sure to protect its weak and tender body from bird enemies like Pidgey and Spearow. Be patient with Metapod. A Butterfree is worth the wait!
