Ukyou Kuonji was Ranma's friend when they were kids (sort of!) and
she used to cook him okonomiyakis (pizza) with smiling faces. She was meant to be his fiancée,
but Genma ask him which he liked better: Okonomiyaki or Ukyou. He choose okonomiyaki (he didn't know
that Ukyou was a girl!). So, Genma and Ranma ran off with the Kuonji's "pizza stand", leaving Ukyou behind.
She decided she wouldn't like boys anymore and dressed up like a guy and devoted herself to okonomiyaki
style martial arts. They meet ten year later and Ranma discover that she's really a girl and they become friends.
Since then, Ukyou tries to win Ranma's heart.
