PATSY: Is there anyone out there? Mom? Dad? Where are you? What happened? Why didnít anyone warn us? Didnít tell us? Were
all grown ups destroyed by the virus? If so, where did the virus come from? Deep in space? Or some scientific experiment gone
horribly wrong? Now there is a New World. A new beginning. With no adults. Weíre on our own. And the few children left behind,
weíre building a new world, in our own image. And are far too busy, surviving in ghostly cityís, or wherever we can, to question
what plummeted us into a primitive world: confusion, danger and fear.
LEX: Daemon Dogs!
DAL: Think about it Jack, if there were any adults in the world-
JACK: They canít all be gone!
ZOOT: No more teachers!
CROWD: Yeah!
ZOOT: No more schools!
PATSY: In every city around the world there are only children. Oh thatís Bray by the way. Heís cool. An eco-warrior who
will one day become our leader. Right now he has a price on his head, and thereís no where to hide.
BRAY: It safer in here out of the war zone.
AMBER: And thatís why youíve been watching us?
PATSY: Uh oh! We better get ready to run, that sounds like the Locos. The Locos control sector 9. Theyíre really scary,
especially their leader Zoot.
ZOOT: Whatís in the bag?
LEX: Walky talkies, CD players, batteries, you name it.
ZOOT: Food?
LEX: Weíve only got enough for us-
ZOOT: Give it to me.
PATSY: No one messes with the Locos, or trusts them. Theyíre pretty good roller-bladders. But not as good as Bray on his
skateboard, which is important in this world. To escape, and survive. Thatís my tribe. And thatís me, Patsy. And my pet dog
Bob. Heís always there when I need him, loyal, dependable: a good boy. Not like my brother Paul, he gets into a lot of mischief
at times. I love him.
LEX: Open this up now! Open it or youíll regret it! Iím warning you!
PATSY: And protect him. Especially with that bully Lex around!
LEX: This guys been hanging around here spying on us!
AMBER: Thatís enough Lex!
LEX: Bray, are you dumb?
BRAY: I donít shoot my mouth off, you call that dumb?
PATSY: Lex is always trying to take over as leader.
LEX: These tribe leaders, they get too much power. Iíll show theme! Iíll get even with him! Thatís a promise! Stop your
snivelling!
ZANDRA: Donít touch me!
LEX: Well what are you looking at? Is this thing going to start or what?
RYAN: Its out of gas. I did find something though. Gum!
PATSY: Lexís bodyguard is Ryan, but heís gentle and a little slow.
RYAN: What do we do?
LEX: We cant afford to feed animals, unless weíre going to eat them!
PATSY: Heís horrible.
RYAN: But weíve just given it presents and everything.
ZANDRA: Make yourselves at home, weíve given the servants a night off, or it would be cocktails in the conservatory.
RYAN: Guys! Guys! Look what Iíve found!
JACK: Thereís no electricity!
ZANDRA: It just a cardboard television!
RYAN: I know! I know! I just feel better, with it there. Thatís all.
PATSY: Thereís not even anything to read.
ZOOT: Burn the books!
CROWD: Burn the books! Burn the books!
PATSY: Thanks to the Locos.
SALENE: Your frightening the little ones!
PATSY: Thatís Salene. Sheís like a big sister. One of the older girls, Trudy is going to be a mother.
SALENE: Babies have been given born for a long time now, its natural, isnít it?
TRUDY: Not in this world it isnít.
PATSY: Amberís more like a mother to me. And my best friend Cloe.
CLOE: Wait there! Donít run away! Iím coming!
PATSY: Cloeís best friend seems to be Daisy.
CLOE: I brought you some milk.
