The History of Trunks

An Essay of the Lavender Haired Hero

Who is this mysterious guy?  He is the offspring of the Saiyajin Prince, Vegeta, and Bulma.  His story is a sad tale, indeed.  No matter where this boy went, trouble followed.

Only a short while after his birth, many loved ones died.  Goku, Piccolo, Krillen, Tien, Choutzu, Yamcha, and even his father, Vegeta pass.  Goku for health reasons, and everyone else fell victim to the Androids.

Yes, the androids, Juunana-gou (17) and Juuhachigou (18).  The two cruel, lifeless cyborgs built by the mad scientist Dr. Gero.   Both have unlimited energy and powers.  It seems impossible to beat these two.  For 13 years they were to blame for many disasters, deaths, and depressions.  It seemed impossible to stop these two.

There may have been one hope, however; Goku's only son, Gohan.  He was a Super Saiyajin and very powerful indeed.  He still, however, died and fell at the robot's feet one cold, morbid night.  It seemed that all was doomed.

No one was more moved by Gohan's death than Trunks.  When he found his bloody body lying there in the rain, he finally ascended to Super Saiyajin through all of his rage and pain.  He knew that he was the only force that would stand against the androids, and he would stand firm in every battle.  Even if one were to be his last.

After another three years of battling for the earth, Bulma had a plan.  Over those years, she'd been constructing a time machine for her son to use.  With this, Trunks could travel back in time to give the medicine Goku needed to survive his horrid disease.  He could also warn them of the androids attack, so they could prepare.  At first, Trunks refused, but he finally saw his mother was right.

One hopeful, blue skied morning, he kissed his mother farewell and climbed in to the time machine.  He hit the time he needed to be at; The attack of Frezia and King Cold.

After turning both of them to cold cuts, he waits patiently with all of the Z-senshi for Goku.  About an hour later he arrives at last.  Trunks asks Goku to speak with him in private, and they flew a few yards away from the rest of the group.  Trunks tells him everything about himself, only to Goku's promise of secrecy.  He feels somewhat renewed after talking to him, knowing he can trust him.

Trunks then waves fare well to the past versions of his parents, and vanishes from his capsule.  This is the last we see of him until the attack of the androids, three years later in the present timeline. When he returns to the present, though, he finds himself in confusion.

Instead of the two twins he knows, he sees the senshi are battling a pair he has never seen.  The ones that are fighting are 19 and 20. 20 is actually just Dr. Gero himself, but he converted himself to be an android. When Trunks comes in to the scene, Gero is frightened by this new fighter, for he didn't know who Trunks was, himself.  He immediately rushes to his lab for some reinforcements; 17 and 18.

Everyone follows Gero, as discreetly as possible. Because of a little mistake by Krillen, though, they are discovered in the act. And so, Gero sets lose the two evil androids! No!  But Gero didn't have any true control over the twins anymore. After an argument, the cyborgs had enough and silenced Gero. With that, he died there, and Juunannagou and Juuhachigou unleashed yet another creation of Gero's, and the cause of his demise. The pair wanted to see what he could do, and Gero refused.  Thus, the doctor's fate.

Anyway, the other android was quite unlike themselves. Though programmed to not feel emotions, something in the barrier makes him a sensitive one who would probably sign up for Green peace in a heartbeat.  Through, his large stature scared the fighters a bit.

Vegeta had had enough and fought against the female android, Juuhachigou.  It was a short battle on the road where cars passed and such, but Vegeta came out the failure.  After that, the two dark twins attacked all of the fighters, and the only one left unharmed was Krillen.  To his surprise at everyone's passed out state, though, the last thing Juuhachigou did before flying off with her brother was kiss Krillen on the cheek!  Once that happened, they left and Krillen was still left at the site of their lost battle.  He, thinking quickly, got everyone up and about. None of the warriors were happy about the loss;  Trunks' sword had been dented badly where Juuhachihgou had merely chopped.  It all looked very grim.

To make matters worse, another horrible creature was coming, lurking about.  Everyone could sense its presence, and it had been there for years with out notice.  That's right, my friend, I'm talking about Cell.  So, with out knowing what terror lied before them, Gohan, Trunks, and Bulma investigated what they'd been sensing.  While all this was going on, Piccolo went to see what was up in some nearby city, and it wasn't pretty.  What the trio mentioned were inspecting was an egg that hatched Cell.  Basically, Piccolo and Cell had a short battle in which we learn all about Cell.  How he came from a time where he had been born, killed Trunks, and came to this time seeking the Androids.  Why does he need the androids?  When he absorbs them he becomes perfect.  Nearly indestructible.  No one knew what to do.

Piccolo had a plan, however.  He approached Kami, Earth's gaudian, with the idea for them to fuse back.  As you know, Piccolo and Kami are actually one, but split apart, so when one dies, they both go.  However, if they were to fuse together, they'd become all around much more powerful.  And so he agreen, and so it was.  They were then Kamiccolo, heh, or of course just Piccolo.

But things began to look up when Goku rose from his bed.  He finally healed from the virus, thanks to Trunks' medicine and everyone's care.  Goku, being the active Saiyan he is, went straight away to the rest of the crew to tell Trunks, Vegeta, and Goku his ideas to beat the androids.  And so they trained in the Room of Spirit and Time.  Each group, Goku and Gohan and Vegeta and Trunks, trained for one full day, a year ROSAT time.

Trunks and Vegeta trained, first, and when they came out, Vegeta wanted right away to fight Cell.  Cell had already absorbed Andoid 17, and was on the verge of getting 18.  After their first bout, Vegeta seemed to be the winner, but, alas, 18 was absorbed.  Vegeta was quickly knocked out with only Krillen to look over him.  Trunks went up, next.  He beefed up, but it was all futile as he lost to him.  He found out some more about him, though.  Cell decided to have a little fun with our race by holding a tournament, the Cell games.  Ten days from then, he'd build a small fighting arena, tell the world, and wait for the day of the battles.  He'd give everyone a go at him, too, but he wanted everyone's bests.

Over the next few days they had left, the Sons tried their best to live life happily and peacefully, while Trunks, Vegeta, and Piccolo each took a day to themselves for training.  Everyone was getting pumped for the fight, and then it finally came.

What a day that was.  It seems a few wrestlers thought they could really take Cell. Hah. They lost quite quickly, having no true special abilities, but the Announcer and Mr. Satan were good to have there in the background for comic relief.  The first to fight Cell was Goku.  It was quite a fight, but quite a loss.  Goku's technique was to blow Cell up. After a bit of fighting, Goku used his power to teleport and took Cell and himself to Kai's planet.  Well, everyone mourned Goku, but thought that at least Cell was gone.

To no avail.  Just as everyone was crying over Goku, a blast shoots from no where and hits none other than the purple-haired wonder himself.  Trunks passes out and coughs out blood.  He is gone for quite a while.  Dead.  While all Trunks is knocked out, a bout begins between Gohan and Cell.  Gohan goes nuts fighting him, I mean crazy over the loss of his father, and also, Vegeta just goes crazy about Trunks!  He hits him with everything he's got!  All kinds of crazy stuff happens, blah blah.  There is a big Kamehameha wave battle between Cell and Gohan.  Just when we think we are losing, though, the other fighters on the side decide to help out, blasting Cell from the other sides.  Finally, a big blow from Vegeta is all that was needed to break the barrier and Cell was gone.  Hooray for Earth!

And so, everyone was happy and at peace!  Everyone killed by Cell were revived, including Trunks.  Yay!  The only thing making people feel down was the loss of Goku.  But, they heard from him via Kai.   He told them he didn't want to be revived because he thought that all of the bad things that had happened to Earth were because so many people were after him.  So he told them "Thanks, but no thanks."  Everyone knew this was right, though, and they continued to live on in peace at last...Well, at least for a few more years ;P

In the end, Trunks said his farewells to his past parents and went back to his own time.  He told future Bulma of the whole tale, even about Vegeta going crazy after his death.  She was quite amazed, but was happy.  Trunks finally got rid of the androids and later Cell with his new found strength from the ROSAT.  At last, Trunks could live well.

And that is how the story of Mirai Trunks ends.

   The End!
