Smooth  Surface  Alloy  Hard  Facing
 

There  are  currently  five  different  types  of  smooth  surface  hard  facing  available  through  Tuboscope , Indonesia. Each  type  has  proven  its  performance  under  varying  drilling  conditions.
 

These  are  as  follows  :-
 

 
 
SMOOTH-X  6000 In  a  license  agreement  with  Hughes  Tool  Company , Tuboscope, Inc.,  applies  SMOOTH-X  6000  hard  facing  in  many  areas  of  the international  oilfield.   

A  mild  steel  is  welded  over  the  tungsten  carbide  particles ,  forming  a  softer  layer  that  uniformly  exposes  the  harder  metal   as  it  wears.

ARNCO  200  XT Tuboscope  is  an  approved  applicator  of  this  alloy  product  providing  protection  to  casing  down-hole  as  well  as  tool  joint.  

Tuboscope  is  the  largest  applicator  of  this  product  world-wide.
 
 

 
 
 
 
 

 

ARMACOR A  specialized  casing  friendly  hard  banding  alloy  applied  to  tool  joints.
 
 
Rough  Surfaces  for  Open  Hole  Drilling
 

 
 
 
 

 

WEAR-O-MATIC Tuboscope  has  a  sole  agreement  to  apply  this  alloy  tungsten  free  product  world-wide. As  with  all  alloys  it  is  slightly  softer  than  tungsten, but  gives  excellent  protection  to  both  tool  joints  and  casing.  

Used  extensively  in  South  East  Asia  for  major  oil  and  Gas  companies.
