Project Revive&Sell

April 17-2002; Finished all paperwork to have full ownership of the car. The lady I acquired it from was going to junk it due to not needing it and the multiple little problems it has. First off the right side brake sticks for some reason, and gets the rims to hot to touch! The motor consumes oil, but only about ½ a quart a month. Although it has 98,000 km’s (possibly 198,000) on it, the motor is very strong and more than happy to let me lay on the gas peddle. It just took some backroad clearing out to get it running smoth again. Was told that the temp sensor did not work, but while looking at the motor noticed a sensor unplugged and found a wire hidden away. Plugged it back in and I could then see how hot the car was. There is a rather large dent in the pass. Side door, inwich I might play with if I get really bored. Just after inspection was cleared the turn signal fuse blew, not sure as to why yet. While pulling the gauge cluster outI found mouse nest from around 1998 or 99 (receipts showed it).  The car had proper maintenance done by mechanics when required (IE oil changes). However the engine was very dirty. The interior was a victim of a smoker; inwich will be steam cleaned once the turn sigs work again. Brand new tires were just placed on the car, and oil changed not less than 200km’s ago.  I plan on seeing if I can’t make some money off of this car. Basic plan is to use it to get parts for other one then fix this one a little and sell. Maybe along the way swap motors for the more ideal and dependable 2.0.  I also have 4 cars too many at this point.

April 23-2002;Found a couple more problems. After hooking the temp sensor back up I noticed how the car liked to stay in the red zone even with the heater on! Therefore while I was at the auto store (A.T.U.) I also purchases a thermostat, along with the new rotors (60 euro). I then raced to the garage before they closed to install the rotors. got them installed in record time of 20min. Once I got done and was parked back in my driveway I checked the rims again, and found that the right side was still Hot (burned myself)and the left was cold. So Iu decided to Ground the car till I can get new brake lines and possibly calipers (or used), because I dont want to damage the new rotors. To bad I thre out the old ones, I'll have to see if they are still in the scrap can! Most of the interior trim has been cleaned up. It is really suprising how pretty this car can be when cleaned up! I also got the other visor today but are missing screws.
