Tarkan wants a mexican girlfriend
EVA EDITH SPÍNDOLA/El Universal - The language difference is not an obstacle to succeed. He plans to return to Mexico in June or July 2000. Maybe sometime in the future he'll record in english. He was impressed by mexican girls and mariachis. More than kisses, Tarkan wants to give his talent and music to the mexicans, despite the difference of language. With three previous albums, he never thought he would had such a great success in countries where people don't understand the meaning of his lyrics. "I've been here just for two days, and I've become fascinated of everything I've seen, specially the mariachi and the people, the girls are really hot." When Tarkan said this he blushed, and then he continued talking, explaining that he had to pospone his trip because of his military service. "I was in the turkish army for 28 days, it was hard but I made great friends. They treated me like anyone else, I was another soldier in the troop." German-born, but of turkish family, Tarkan said he has learned to live being famous, though he admitted that at the beginning he was changed. "I got everything so quickly when my album came out that soon I was changed. Fame is dangerous if you don't know how to handle it. It affected me a lot, but afterwards I realized that we should be humble in this career and grateful with people, specially fans." In a good mood, and sending kisses to anyone, Tarkan said he will stay for a few more days, but that he plans to return to Mexico to make some concerts in June or July. "On Thursday I'm leaving for Turkey, to finish my new album, then I'll go to Brazil, later on I'll make a world tour." He mentioned that for the moment, he'll still sing in turkish, but that could change in the future. "My next album will be in turkish, but I really want people to understand what I'm singing, so maybe I'll record one or two songs in english." Before the press conference, Universal Music Group gave him a Platinum Record for the great sales of his album "Tarkan". Tarkan said he doesn't have a girlfriend, because he still doesn't know well the mexican girls, but that he hopes someday he'll be friend with one. "People always ask me if I dedicate Simarik to someone, but no. In fact, I don't have a girlfriend. What I want to do with my music is to eliminate repression and social prejudice, specially in my country, where religion is strong and people is too conservative." During his visit to Mexico, Tarkan went to El Zócalo, the Catedral and Plaza Garibaldi. "I don't have enough time, but I was in Garibaldi and I loved the food and dancing with mariachis". Here at the left pic is Tarkan (I suppose that photo was taken in the press conference) sending one of his famous kisses to all of his fans. Oh, but I don't like his hair now, why he dyed it? I don't understand. Mmm...maybe he just wanted to change his look, but in my personal opinion, I don't like him like that. What do you think? Do you agree with me or not?
