Tarkan in Domingo Azteca

This article appeared in mexican magazine TV y Novelas in March 2000. It is about the first broadcast of TV show Domingo Azteca after enduring many changes, in which they invited Tarkan and Lou Bega. This was one of many performances Tarkan made during his visit to Mexico in March 2000.

Domingo Azteca leaves the Premier after 15 months and for the first time goes to the interior of the Mexican Republic. Acapulco was the city chosen to inaugurate the tour this show will make within the country. Tarkan and Lou Bega were invited to mark the beginning of the renovated show, now called Domingo Azteca Internacional. Although there were some mistakes during it, the show fulfilled its purpose, to bring to the people two famous stars of music.

Backstage, the journalists interviewed Lou Bega, who said he felt very lucky the mexicans loved his music. With Tarkan, things were different, they didn't let any women (besides his manager) to get near him, they said his religion forbid him of approaching women (is this true?).

My comments: What do you think? Could this be true, that women were forbidden of approaching Tarkan? This is very strange, of all the mexican articles I've read, only this magazine has said so. I'll go ask some mexicans, to explain me the truth, because I don't really believe it. --L.S.
