Tarkan is back

 

02/09/2006 - Universal Music México - With a career spanning 16 years, and more than 17 million copies sold, Turkey's greatest star shines again.

In 2000, the compilation album named Tarkan was certified as platinum in Mexico, for selling more than 200,000 copies.

That same year, the song Simarik (Kiss Song) was one of the most popular in Mexico's radio stations and nightclubs.

Since 2001, Tarkan is living in New York City, and after working for a long time, he decided to record his first English album called: Come Closer. It will be released worldwide on March 24, 2006.

The album's first single is named Bounce; it's an hypnotic song which will shake many hips.

Many famous producers participated in his new album, Come Closer, such as Lester Mendez (who worked with both Shakira and Carlos Santana), Billy Man (Jessica Simpson), and Josh Schwartz and Biran Kerulf (Britney Spears).

Tarkan says: "During my stay in the United States I had many positive experiences, specially because as I explored american rythms and sounds I was able to enrich my musical possibilites".

Tarkan's new album, Come Closer, will be sold in Mexico beginning next March 24.
