Tarkan's Image Changes
Our first chat in Tarkan's Circle fan club took place on August 30, 2000. We discussed the change that Tarkan's image has experienced through the years, and everyone had different opinions about it. Tarkan is not the same
one of 10 years ago. If we observe his first pictures, you Some people said in the chat that Tarkan had undergone some kind of dental work, to improve his smile. Is it true? Well, they sent me an old photo (look at the pic at the right, you can click over it to see it in greater detail) and, yes, it seems his front teeth were different. I've tried to get any other old photographs, to compare, but my efforts have proven to be unsuccessful. Then, as the years went
by, he defined his own style. However, as he becomes more famous,
he put on some weight, too! Maybe because he was enjoying his
success? Maybe, he watched himself in the mirror, maybe his advisors told him to get in shape, the thing is he went on a diet ("no bread, no potatoes" as he said in an interview) and he went to a fitness center, to sculpt his body and become the Tarkan we know today. For me, there was a remarkable difference between the Simarik video and his World Music Awards performance. There are about 2 years between both events, and a total change, because if Tarkan was overweight in the Simarik video, in the Awards he was totally in shape and totally gorgeous! In the World Music
Awards you could see the beautiful body he has, wow! He's such a
hunk! He began singing, moving sensually over the stage, biting
his lip with desire, as he always does. His nice black hair,
styled casually, contrasted perfectly with his charming green
eyes. Now, this is the Tarkan of the present, the one we knew for
the first time here in Latin America. The only thing I didn't liked from that performance, was when he received his award, he looked so short standing next to Adriana Sklernikova! That's because he's about 1.72 m tall, while she is more than 1.80 m (a very tall woman, indeed). Some people disagree with Tarkan's height, some say he's shorter than 1.72 m, others say he's about 1.76 m. Who is right? We should ask someone who has seen him in real life, to know the truth about his height. In my opinion, I like him all, except for his nose. Specially when viewed in profile. His eyes are wonderful, not because they are green, but because they have a very intense gaze. His eyebrows are the perfect frame for his eyes, which are surrounded by long and thick eyelashes (making his eyes so different and attractive).
He has a pretty smile, seems to be warm and sincere, full of love for his music and his fans. I think he must be very sweet (there are witnesses who can confirm this). Why aren't there many photographs of Tarkan in shorts or swimsuits? Does he has nice legs? I am curious. Definitely, he should take more pictures with little clothing (or none at all, too!). For us who didn't know him until
recently, he seems unrecognizable to us. You could watch his face
with some extra pounds there (pic on the left).
I love his jet black hair, it's
very nice and soft, it is the perfect contrast for his fair skin
and green eyes. I didn't like it when he dyed his hair blond, but
someone told me he has it black again.
