Tarkan is on his way to become a huge star in the USA...

This article appeared in a turkish web site called Mynet a couple of months ago. I want to thank Bahar, for translating this article from Turkish into English.

It was announced that Tarkan, who has climbed up high in US and Latin American charts, will be releasing his first English-language album in a few years. Ahmet Ertegun, the owner of Atlantic Records, told the newspaper Los Angeles Times that Tarkan had signed a contract with Atlantic Records 2 years ago, and that the rights of the English albums would be owned by Atlantic Records if Tarkan were to release any English albums.

Ertegun also explained that Tarkan does not have time to prepare an English-language album, since he is still busy because of the world-wide success of his Turkish songs. Ertegun continued, "We do not want to interfere with Tarkan's program right now", since he has a heavy schedule of concerts and live tv shows.

Ertegun also noted that the key-reason for Tarkan's success was that he was able to overcome all ethnic barriers with his talent. Ertegun believes that Tarkan will be a huge star in America, therefore they postponed the making of the English album to a later date.

The newspaper Los Angeles Times wrote that Tarkan was planning to release his first English album in the upcoming few years.

David Alvarado, the head of Universal Music Latino which is the company that delivers Tarkan's records in Latin countries, told the newspaper that Tarkan would be doing a Spanish duet with a famous Latino singer, and that this CD would be released soon.

Alvarado also mentioned that he was not going to tell the name of the star that would pair up with Tarkan for the duet, yet.
