Tarkan greeted by a crowd of both media and fans

 

Milliyet (March 18, 2001) - The famous pop singer Tarkan who had been living abroad for so long has returned to Istanbul. Tarkan, who will be staying in Turkey for two months, was greeted at the airport by his mother Nese Tevetoglu, his sister and besides his close friends, a huge crowd of media and fans.

 

"I MISSED MY MOTHER'S COOKING"

The singer, who answered the reporters questions at the airport, said: "I've come to Turkey with very special songs. With these songs i'm going to make people dance "fikir fikir" [expression similar to "sikidim sikidim", which refers to the bubbling effect of boiling water]. I've missed Turkey, specially my mother's cooking." The singer will be promoting his single to be released in April, and the new commercial for Pepsi on March 23 at the Hilton Convention Center in Istanbul. He will be performing at 20 concerts in Turkey this summer, and another 30 concerts are planned for abroad, making it a total of 50 concerts.
