Toads are interesting to have around. We had one live under our deck for several years.
At dusk it would come out onto our patio. It was not deterred by people or dogs.
If we were sitting out, it would join us for a time. It was happy to take worms from us if offered.
It would then work its way along the walks and driveway stopping at all its favorite spots.
It would sit on either side of the garage doors but never in front of them like it knew where not to sit.
Being regular in its movement, we knew to watch where we walked after dark.
However, we never encountered the toad on the driveway in the path of our automobiles which is strange but true.
It appeared to be one smart toad.
