Munky
James Christian Shaffer was born on June 6, 1970 in Rosedale, California. He learned to play the guitar after cutting off the top of his left index finger. When he was younger he had a three wheeler. One night while sneaking out to a party the chain slipped off. He slapped his hand down to quiet it, and when he brought his hand back up, the top of his finger was missing.
His nickname "Munky" comes from: "My feet. When I'd spread them out people would say thy looked like hands. Monkey hands".
He and Head have been playing together for over two-thirds of their lives.
