RA2:
Ship of Horror
Online Player's Guide
Overview

The mists of Ravenloft know no boundaries and observe no rules.  One way or another they always get what they want...
Having narrowly -- and somewhat mysteriously -- escaped the newly formed domain of Daglan at the conclusion of RA1: Feast of Goblyns, the party finds themselves stranded in a small fishing village bordered only by the vast ocean.  The chance for escape comes in the form of the Endurance, a merchant ship steered by a grizzled captain and a slim crew.  Promise of adventure and opportunity lead you aboard, but to where do the ocean winds carry you?  Can you ever hope to escape the clutches of the Dark Powers, or have they weaved their tendrils about you tighter still?

Designer's Note: A copy of this documentation is included in the ra2.zip file.

Welcome to my sixth design, and the fourth in a series of designs that form a campaign through the world of Ravenloft.  Ship of Horror is a large-scale adventure designed for four to six characters between eighth and tenth level.  As in all my designs, you will find that this game emphasizes the adventure and interaction found in role-playing games rather than the combat.  You will find yourself involved in plenty of challenging battles -- a few more than I usually throw at you --, but this adventure is certainly not hack-n-slash.

The adventure takes place in the world of Ravenloft, in the troubled waters and islands of the Nocturnal Sea.  A great deal of equipment and a few spells not found in standard UA have been added, but they are all familiar to the world of AD&D. Also, since the original adventure was designed under AD&D 2nd edition rules, a series of hacks have been put in place to simulate this system.  Details on the hacks included can be found on the next page, Getting Started.  A pre-generated party made up of my own characters is included with the game as well, and you can view the information about them on the Characters page.  Also, I've included a page of Credits, to thank all those who contributed to this module in any way.

Please take the time to view these other pages, as there is a lot of important information included within.  Also, thanks for taking the time to read this documentation as a preview to RA2: Ship of Horror!
