MORPHOLOGY: The legs on this species are longer than the arms, and it has a long, bushy tail. Crowned Lemurs also possess binocular vision. In the female, the vulva closes when not in estrus. RANGE: This species lives in the Northern part of Madagascar, primarily in the dry forests and savannas. ECOLOGY: This is primarily a herbivorous species, subsisting on flowers, fruits, and leaves. LOCOMOTION: The crowned lemur moves quadrupedally. |
