A Perfect Circle grabbed the #1 spot in the New Zealand album charts this September with the release of their second album Thirteenth Step.
The band's revised all-star line-up now includes James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins) on guitar, Twiggy Ramirez (Marilyn Manson) on bass and Josh Freese on drums plus original members, singer Maynard James Keenan (TOOL) and guitar tech Billy Howerdel.
The group says the completion of their much-anticipated second album, Thirteenth Step concluded a long creative process of emotional soul-searching.
Their darkly textured collection of new songs is the follow-up to the platinum Mer De Noms, APCs extraordinary Virgin Records debut of May 2000.A dramatically powerful album that picks up sonically where Mer De Noms left off, Thirteenth Step is a conceptual exploration of the darker side of the human psyche.
Singer Maynard James Keenan (also vocalist with the rock band TOOL) is the voice of A Perfect Circle.
Guitarist Billy Howerdel, the chief songwriter and producer (who previously worked with Tool, Nine Inch Nails, David Bowie and others) pens the incredible music and is the heart of A Perfect Circle. Billy deftly combines instinct with raw talent to create passages of atmosphere, beauty and power.
The engine room of A Perfect Circle comes courtesy of one of the most renowned drummers in the world, Mr Josh Freese.
The new incarnation of A Perfect Circle includes Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha and Jeordie White (aka Twiggy Ramirez) of Marilyn Manson.
Album Thirteenth Step featuring the single Weak And Powerless is out now through Virgin Records.
