Exam Battle 1: Lita's Melancholy
By Naoko Tacheuchi

Lita dreams of her husband coming home to a feast she cooked for their first wedding anniversary. She wakes up to smell her meatloaf burning right before her friends show up. Bunny, Amy, Raye, and Mina arrive to study with Lita for their coming high school entrance exams. Lita serves them all herbal tea and they sit down and get to work.

After a little while, Lita gets restless and serves them all dinner. They eat, then realize it is 11 p.m., and go home. Amy is upset that half her studying did not get done. Lita spends the next hours cleaning her kitchen instead of bed or studying.

The next day, Lita gets her test back, only scoring a 40. Amy tells her to study harder. Lita tries to procrastinate more, going to the Crown Fruit Parlor with Bunny. They go to a cute store afterwards to get some sour tea to stay awake while studying. The tea is out, but Lita roams around the store, exclaiming over many items before they sit down to tea.

At the next study group, Lita gets restless again, and tries to get up to make tea and bring in dinner. Amy tells her to stop cooking all the time and just eat instant cups of noodles while preparing for the exam. Lita gets melodramatic; exclaiming all she wants is the simple things of life, that she isn't cut out for high school. Amy is unmoved and tells her it's just an escape.

In the cute store, a spirit appears, calling herself S. Cape. She fills the store with a sweet scent to capture more escapist students.

After another day of school, Lita gets a 50 on her test, a higher score, but still depressing. She wanders home alone, but is caught by the sweet scent coming out of the store, where she wanders in and begins eating goodies.

The girls are waiting for Lita to study when Raye senses evil. They arrive at the cute shop as Lita passes out after eating the sweets. The spirit reveals herself, as Bunny clutches to Lita, telling her they will be high schoolers together. Lita snaps out of it and transforms. She kills the procrastinating spirit, then passes back out onto the flower, dreaming of her future.
