The USS Hermes is a Play By Email role-playing game based on the Star Trek Universe. The Current
year is 2376, and the United Federation of Planets is recovering from the war against The Dominion. While the shipyards
struggle to rebuild the fleet, older vessels are pressed into service, forced to take on roles that their original designers never
envisioned for them. Such is the case for the USS Hermes...a 30 year old Starship, gutted and rebuilt from the inside out to
serve as a Rapid Response platform for Search, Rescue, and Medical operations.
Working out of Starbase 135, this Oberth class vessel under the command of Captain Marcus Thorne seeks to safeguard the
welfare and well being of the inhabitants of the Bishop Sector, an area of space that lies between the borders
of Romulan and what used to be Cardassian space. It is a sector that is largely unexplored, an area of space that houses many
different species and sentients from all walks of life.
Among this unique crew are a large number of doctors, as well as a detachment of RRU pilots, trained as Marines and now
serving to save lives in hostile environments. Keeping the peace onboard the Starship can be as difficult as the missions the
crew will be called upon to perform, but in the end it all boils down to a single factor…They are Starfleet Officers, one and all,
trained to work together and to endure.
