It takes some 9 hours of good roads by Dangwa bus to reach Banaue from Manila, Pantranco buses go only up to Lagawe, where there are jeepneys that can take travelers to Banawe. Other buses have trips to Solano, Nueva Vizcaya, where jeeps ply the Solano-Lagawe-Banawe route.

From Baguio, there are two Dangwa bus trips to Banaue. They are all non-air-conditioned dusty roads passing through Bayonbong, Nueva Vizcaya.

A jeepney ride from Bontoc to Banawe traverses the Mt. Polis range. This route gives a close view of rice terraces making travelers feel the massiveness of the engineering structures. It also offers sights at a giant fern forests shrouded in mists bringing imaginative tourists to the age of dinosaurs.
