Born into the vampire aristocracy, Thane was the son of the leader of Naler'Mar, an influential house in the city. However, his thirst for action drove him outwards, to find adventure. He worked as a Strongarm for about 10 years, a sort of hired guard for merchant caravans.

Whilst working like this, the young vampire met the necromancer, Zardin Kor. Enthralled by his power, Thane moved into his employment with the man. Many years passed, as Thane rose in the ranks to become head slave driver and assassin for the necromancer. After 80 years like this, the vampire was imbued by his master, giving him great magical and melee power alike. Zardin eventually died, his own corruption driving him to insanity.
Thane left the lands, traveling with a man he met, named Valaska Rue. The two walked from realm to realm, for over a hundred years, but eventually parted. Thane returned to his home city, only to find that his father and brother had fallen and the house of Naler'Mar fallen into disarray.

The vampire quickly rebuilt the family, restoring it's former glory and killing the man responsible for the death of his kin, the Earl of Nairhne. As the law stated, the slaying of the Earl left all his wealth in the hands of Thane. He used this new power to secure Naler'Mar's rightful position at the head of the other families. After many more years, he left his able cousin in charge, wanting again the thrill of battle.
His long voyage brought him to a strange land.. but he saw that there was excitement to be had and enemies to kill. Here he has stayed... what shall await him, at the young age of 335.
