The Sailor Starlights "Penetrating the darkness at night...The air of freedom breaks through...We are the three sacred shooting stars...Sailor StarFighter! Sailor StarMaker! Sailor StarHealer! Sailor Starlights...Are here!!" (Sailor Moon Sailor Stars Volume 5, Episode 9).
The Sailor Starlights are perhaps the most confusing of the Senshi because of their origins. Because technically they don’t belong to the Inner and Outer rings of the Senshi it’s hard to find a place where they can comfortably fit in…but I think I’ve figured most of it out. The Starlights came from a distant planet (whoa! Somewhere other than the Moon for once! ^_^) that was destroyed by Galaxia (an evil Queen of some sort), and the Princess of that planet, Princess Kakyuu (Princess Fireball) sent herself to Earth to hide. The Starlights, who were originally female in appearance, transformed their bodies into bodies of young men and formed the Idol group The Three Lights so they could send messages to their Princess through the music in an attempt to find her. When they need to transform into Starlights, their bodies transform back to women, their true form. So yes, they ARE actually girls in male bodies! ~_^ Like the Outer Senshi, they like to keep their business to themselves and do their best to leave the other Senshi out. The Starlights befriend the Inner Senshi, but have a dislike for the Outers. |
