2002 Movie Review Archive

Pirates of the Carribean
Ah, finally a good movie! Man all these summer movies sucked but there's always one to make up for it, and this one was it. he characters were just great, I loved Johnny Depp. It had a really cool plot, awesome effects, and it was such a fun movie. I totally recommend it, anyone will love this movie!

Tomb Raider II:
The Cradle of Life
I never really got around to being a fan of Tomb Raider, but Angelina Jo Lee was my motivation to see it. The first part of the movie was already, some cool action sequences and she kicked ass. But then the plot went into this big mythology thing and towards the end it began to get really silly and dumb. Wasn't a very good movie.

Johnny English
I really had anticipated this one and it totally failed my expectations. It was such a lame, unorganized plot, the jokes got annoying after a while, along with the characters. There were of course some funny parts, Rowan Atkinson is a great comedian but this movie was his worst. These type of plots and sequences get so repetitive, you can totally predict the endings.

The Italian Job
This was a fun one. Some really funny characters, sweet cars, and clever robberies. The more I think about this movie, the more I like it. It went by real quick though, porably because it had a really simple plot and quick ending. If you like car chases and James Bond type stuff, you'll like this one.

The Matrix: Reloaded
An explosive action-packed film bonanza!! This was my most anticipated film ever and it was a jolly good time! It was nothing like the first one but the fight scenes were wayyyy better! Neo kicked ass!! I can't wait till the third one comes out! Go see it!

X2: X-Men United
Yet another sweet action movie. Far better than the first, the characters were even cooler, I loved Wolverine he was great. Some awesome effects and some comedy in between. I recommend it.

The Core
A great action-packed thriller. Has some great effects and hardly believeable, but entertaining plot. The actors were great and the movie had its own twist of comedy. It was definetly my kind of movie with science fiction, destruction, and chaos.

Head Of State
Well I thought I could expect a Chris Rock movie to be better than this but he makes some dumb movies. I thought it'd be funny because it made fun of politics but it was just really stupid. The characters just annoyed me (except for Bernie Mac). I don't want to totally rip on the movie because there were some funny scenes but otherwise, don't waste your money.

View From The Top
I didn't like this one much. It was funny in some parts but it seemed more like a chick flick. It also had a sappy love story under it. It was a good story of inspiration for this young woman who wanted to accomplish her dreams of being on top and making some hard decisions along the way, but a boring movie. The bloopers were the only good part.

Bringing Down the House
This movie is "laugh till it hurts." It was quite possibly the funniest movie I've ever seen. Steve Martin was soooooo hilarious and Queen Latifah was actually pretty funny too. It was a great movie that brought together the old and young generations, it was amazing how many people of different ages was in that one theater. See it now!

Old School
Wow, it was unbelievably hilarious!!! It was so stupid and pointless but I love Will Ferrell, he is my hero! He was like the only reason that movie was good, but some of the other characters were great. It was just so creative and such fresh comedy.

Gods and Generals
Well this one was interesting. I saw about two and a half hours of it and suddenly it went into Intermission... I was like "what the hell?" Well then I just left the theatre because I really didn't feel like seeing the rest because the movie was very boring and slowing, but the battle scenes of course were awesome, I love civil war battles. Unless your a huge civil war freak, I'd recommend it but otherwise, don't even bother seeing this one.

Daredevil
I've been waiting several months this one and it lived up to my expectations. It was like another version of Spiderman but I liked Daredevil's character more, it seemed more believeable. Jennifer Garner also lived up to my expectations of her hotness, she is the greatest. The bad guys were pretty sweet too, it was a really good one.

The Recruit
Colin Farrel is sweeeeet! He's the coolest actor ever, he did so good in this one along with Pacino. They were a good pair. It's a cool CIA-based plot with some good action. Towards the end it turns into a game of a trust and betrayal and had some clever comedy in between.

Darkness Falls
Hahaha, this was a good one. It's supposed to be scary but I thought it was more comical than horrific like the critics say it is. It was quite entertaining, and at times pretty jumpy. It was a little creepy when it came to the ghost thingy that was chasing them. It was a fun ride.

Just Married
This movie was really funny I thought. Kutcher and Murphy really aren't the romantic type, but they made it so funny. It had a weak plot though but still moved along pretty well. You'll either fin it really annoying or really funny.

Catch Me If You Can
This one was marvelous. Ah, what a cool adjective. Anyway, this one had the best director (Spielberg), actors (Hanks and Dicaprio), and composer (John Williams). It was just such a good movie, so sly and clever. It had a really cool plot, and what was cool is that it was based on a true story. I really enjoyed it.

Lord of The Rings:
The Two Towers
Ah... the first movie I saw in 2003, what a great one to kick off another mass movie-going year. I especially liked it because it was pretty much a war epic,  had a lot of nice action, and moved pretty quickly though it was still very long, but all in all very entertaining. I want this one on DVD.
