Cakes & Pies Pumpkinog Pie

Recipe Ingredients
This is a wonderful twist on two holiday standards. You may use a regular pie shell, or add flavor by using graham cracker or vanilla wafer crumb crust.


3/4 cup sugar
3 eggs, separated
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1-1/2 cups dairy eggnog
1 can (1-lb) canned pumpkin
1/2 cup whipped cream, whipped






Recipe Directions
Mix 1/2 cup sugar, gelatin and spices in sauce pan. Add yolks and eggnog. Cook, stirring until mixture coats spoon. Remove, add pumpkin. Chill until slightly thickened. Beat egg whites until foamy. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar. Beat until stiff and glossy. Fold into gelatin mixture. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into crust and chill. Garnish with whipped cream.
