Mickey Jones was born June 10, 1941. In 1966, he toured as the drummer with Bob Dylan's band. In 1967, he joined four of the members of The New Christy Minstrels who had formed their own band, called "Kenny Rogers and The Fifth Edition". They had their first hit shortly thereafter with the song, "Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In". The band had several subsequent hit singles, including "But You Know I Love You", "Ruby (Don't Take Your Love To Town)", "Reuben James", and "Something's Burning". Kenny Rogers decided to embark on a solo career: The Fifth Edition broke up in 1976, and Mickey decided to turn to acting. While working with Michael Ironside in "V", the two became close friends. Mickey has since appeared in several of Ironside's feature films, and was even the Best Man at Michael's wedding to Karen Dimwiddie. In his spare time, Mickey enjoys golfing. He is happily married to Phyllis, and has five children and six grandchildren. Many thanks to Shelby for helping with the Biography and for pointing me in the right direction to get information! Mickey has also just been spotted in a U.S. commercial for "Pep Boys", an automative care and parts chain. Thanks to Deb for bringing this to my attention.
