(Nana's) Scene 1
Location - Raintree Stables

Jean, Kris and Matt are watching the horses work out for the morning. Jean asks Kris if she's ready for the upcoming race. Kris says she won't be able to sleep for weeks.

With Pablo gone on some "old business", someone has to help train Kris to get ready... Jean picks Matt, who's not sure he's up to the job but she has faith in him. He's been helping the family for years.

Jean shows them Pablo's training book and the notes on Wildfire. The kids are surprised to see everything so detailed and Jean says that in order to be a good trainer you watch both the whole picture and the tiny details. She tells them that as long as they follow the training that Pablo had detailed out, they'll do just fine.

Jean then moves to check on the mare pregnant with "Baby Wildfire." Kris tells her that she's definitely eating for two.
Jean tells them that the more Wildfire wins, the more money the baby will be worth. Kris promises she's going to win the race and Jean insists that she shouldn't put that kind of pressure on herself.

Jean has come upstairs to talk to Todd because she didn't see him when he came in from school. He doesn't seem willing to come out to see her, so she tells him to open his door.
