Location - Outside at The Ritter Household

Kerry has come to tell Jean about Matt's working for both Davis and Raintree.
Jean has no idea what he's talking about.

When Jean realizes what has happened, she also realizes that Kerry is suggesting that Kris drop the race.

Kerry insists that's not what he's saying, but that she should look at it from his point of view and think about how it looks to her then.

It's everybody pick on Jean day. Todd and Charlie have come to tell the truth about the black eye. Todd's taking karate and hadn't told Jean because he thought she'd say no. She agrees. As long as he was on his medication, she wouldn't have.
Todd tells his mother that he's really enjoying it. Jean loves that he's trying new things, but wonders why he'd pick karate.
Instead of answering, Todd says that he and Charlie had agreed that Todd would quit if Jean went to his first match and didn't like it. She gets worried that he's going to fight another boy.
Turns out Todd's fighting a girl and Charlie insists he's going to "flatten" her. Jean's not too happy about that kind of encouragement, but thinks over what her options are and finally agrees to their deal.
