OK, let's see. That's 113 total who've passed through my homestead, and I'm sure I missed a few who stayed only shortly. Of those, 10 (IN CAPS) are still around and making me nuts daily. Gotta love 'em. Itchy won a first place ribbon AND MY FIRST CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY at the GCFA ferret show several years back, and Shannon won first place in the Chocolate specialty. Last year Cookie, Ruby, and JB won ribbons, with Cookie getting the Sable trophy. YEAH! Also, I must not forget about my four sugar gliders (Gidget, LaVerne and Shirley, and Minnie), my two cockateils Cookie and Baby, my German Trumpeter Pigeon Cooch, my beagle mix dog Maggie, my tweenie dachshund Gretchen, my new mini dachshund Little Skipper, and a few other creatures that seem to pop up here and there... My foster brat doggie Brittany and my foster bitchy kitty Boog left to go on to a new life. (Rat girls Bud, Old Style and Amaretto died of old age recently :( , I'm so sad....) Gliders Dale, Junior and Chip died within the last three years. Of a brood of five kittens found in my yard, the three boys have gotten new homes, the tiny runt girl died, and the other girl is staying with me until her new mom starts her new job. Talk about living in a zoo..... I should start charging admission......
Lucy was my first ferret. She was a darling black sable, perfect in every way. She was so much fun! She would steal my mother's yarn and threads and run so fast with them, giggling all the way! She would never go down head first, she would always back down from any high place. It only took me a short while to become totally enchanted with ferrets, because of her.
I got Sally because Lucy needed a playmate (OK, really because Lucy was chomping on my feet too much and I felt another ferret fo her to chase would be better). Sally was a pretty white girl. She was a mom to all of the stuffed animals in the house.
Charlie
Pepper
OK, ferret math had struck and I wanted more of these wonderful creatures. I looked in the newspaper and found someone moving out of the country and wanting to give up their ferrets. I liked them, they were a male and female sable pair. I couldn't pronounce their original foreign names, and since I realized I had an unintentional Peanuts theme going, I named them Charlie (Brown) and Pepper (-mint Patty). These guys were fed vegetables and fruits by their previous owners, and boy did it take me a while to get them out of that habit.
Peanut
Marcie
Snoopy
Well, I wanted more! I went back to the pet store and couldn't decide between two baby girls, so I got them both. Peanut was a shetland and she turned out to be the smartest ferret alive! Marcie started out as a striped and spotted white, but eventually turned all white. After I had these girls one day, I couldn't help thinking about the older baby boy at the pet store, wondering if he would get a home. I went back and got him, a wonderful silver mitt boy, and I named him Snoopy.
By now everyone knew I was a ferret person. A friend called me and told me about a ferret living on the unheated back porch of a blind couple's apartment in the ghetto area. They were worried it would not survive the cold winter. I called the couple, they were willing to give up the ferret. They told me he was very old. I went to get him, and BOY, I had never seen roaches before and they were swarming everywhere. I decided not to take any of his belongings, as they were infested with roach eggs. He was a sweet old albino boy.
Rascal
Buster
I discovered shelters! These boys were my first officially adopted ferrets. Actually, every ferret I got from this point on came from a shelter or was a rescue.
A very sweet sable girl.
His name was originally Squirrely, but I changed it to Critter.
An old, quiet, sweet albino girl.
I took this lovable guy home because he was a bad biter. It turns out that he just needed a home. After enduring some bad bites, I turned this guy into a kissy boy.

Scamp

Great kids! Well, Honey and Pixie never met. Scamp and Honey were great friends. Honey had a bad reaction to her distemper shot, recovered, then had a rare secondary reaction the next day and died as a result. Scamp got lonely and I got Pixie for him to keep him company. Scamp and Pixie now hang out with the brat kids below.
A very lovely girl! Died at the hands of her savior.
A great old guy.
A nut! I picked him up from Anti-Cruelty, a dog and cat shelter, and he never left my care. It was like he never got to get out of his cage before, like a kid in a candy store. He stole all of my pencils, pens, papers, anything that he could pick up. I couldn't stop laughing. He's learned that he doesn't have to steal so much now. Ringo hangs out with Scamp and the brat kids below.

Fudge
Oreo

Oliver
The brats! Fudge and Oreo came first, then Raven, Oliver and Curley (below). With Scamp, Pixie and Ringo, this group of seven nuts keeps me laughing (and pulling my hair out) regularly.
A lovely older lady who came with Raven and Oliver above, but she did not get along well with all of the youngsters, so she now hangs out with Ty, below.
