21st Century Grant

Funded by the Federal Government, the 21st Century Grant was established to provide after-school services for at risk students. This 3 year, $400,000.00 grant has allowed us to open the B.E.A.R. Center. Through B.E.A.R. Center, students receive daily tutoring, recreation, snacks, and transportation. Tutoring is available in the morning and in the afternoon. B.E.A.R. Center is staffed by West Oso I.S.D. employees and TAMUCC students. Recreation time consists of games, sport classes, arts and crafts, cooking, and various fieldtrips. All students at West Oso Junior High are encouraged to participate in this great program. Registration forms are available in the office and the library.
