The Online Campaign

The Palace of Lavation

Turns 1-8

and

The Blight Witches

Turns 1-10

Introduction from The Jericho: I felt the party needed a source of reliable information and chose Helo of the Red Tigers Adventuring Troupe to fulfill that role. As a female and a desirable one, I felt that her view on things would be a rewarding way to approach the information game. Plus it nicely plays the morality card.

The Palace of Lavation: Turn 1

The party all arrives on time before Silverwing's House of Lavation.

Actions?

------------------------------

Jerry says: I didn't receive much of anything from anyone today. Hmm....Would everyone please let JK know with tomorrow's turn if you sent in one on Monday? Thanks. Let's not be slacking off. Slacking brings powerful monsters to kill you all....Muhahaha!!!

I didn't give you much of a lead in this turn because I didn't receive much. Feel free to argue, fight, kill each other, or go inside.....oohhh.

Turns or at least an email about the missing turn are going out each day, so let me know if you don't get one.

Jerry---------------------------

Subj: Palace of Lavation: Turn 2

Jus looks up at the sign reading "The Palace of Lavation" and says, "With a name like that this must be one of the funniest places in town! Let's go see what's up." Jus then goes in without waiting for the others. He stands in a daze looking at the opulent splendor within the place.

Gareth sees the others not entering quite so quickly and says "I found out about these guys. They're OK. I think we can trust them." Then Gareth enters the

building and looks for Helo.

Onrad enters behind Gareth and whistles when he sees the interior.

Tiburon enters behind Gareth and Onrad and looks around for Helo. After a second of searching, he says, "There she is fellows, let's join her," and he proceeds over to her.

Flaust also enters the Palace and looks around for Helo.

Gareth, Onrad, and Flaust go with Tiburon, he approaches the halfling and says mustering all of his limited charm "Hello, Helo. You have a good taste in meeting

places." When appropriate he asks "Why has the Red Tigers asked us - a mere group of beginners - to make their acquaintance?"

Helo smiles and says, "Because you have shown a great deal of promise. Here have a seat." She motions to a place at the table and then sits down.

Flaust then says, "Hello, Helo. I think we may be interested in that proposition you mentioned earlier."

Helo smiles.

Talvik will walk to the entry-way pause, and remain on the porch. He will sit outside watching the people pass by. Checking from time to time to look at the party.

Nonam looks at Talvik and says, "I hope there aren't any laws against loitering here", and then he goes in and sits down at the table with Helo.

Once all in the group, have seated themselves (save Talvik), Helo begins, "Well, I know that all of you have been looking about town on your own trying to find out about me, the Black Blades, the Blight Witches, and Sirden. So why don't you share what you've found out with one another, and then I'll tell you what I know."

Talvik looks in through the doors to make certain the party is doing okay and sees them having what appears to be a good time. He then resumes his lonely watch outside Silverwing's Palace of Lavation.

-------------------------------

jk did this turn. I don't have too much to say.

-------------------------------

Palace of Lavation: Turn 3

To Helo Jus asks, "So where are the rest of these Red Tigers? Do we get to

meet all of you?"

"Sure," she purrs, "but not today. The rest of the group, minus me, is in Lankhmar chasing after an artifact or two. There are some pretty powerful items floating around right now that seem to be leading the Noble Races to the brink of war. They are known as the "Rings of Ascension." Most of the more experienced groups right now are chasing around after these things, trying to prevent one power from getting them all and taking all the others over. That sounds very trite, but it's all you should know about it for now. One of the hardest lessons to learn is when to leave well enough alone.

"As soon as they return, I'd love to introduce you to them. I have mentioned you to them and they were greatly heartened to learn of your goodness and potential."

Gareth says "The blight witches live in an..."

Helo puts her fingers to his lips and says, "Ssh....Save it for later hun."

Looking around, Jus is wondering where the baths are. About to say

something, he catches himself; deciding someone may be offended by that

type of joke and wondering why no one caught his earlier sarcasm.

About this time a beautiful elven maiden dressed in silver toga with red trim enters the juice bar through a door filled with steam followed by 6 flanking elven women dressed in simple white togas. She bows gracefully and turns to Helo and says, "Good afternoon, Helo. Your bath is ready. Shall these gentlemen be joining you?"

Without a pause Helo rises to her feet passes between the 'Ladies of Lavation' dropping her robe so that it falls off of her just as she steps through the steam door and says, "Of course, silly."

Nonam's mouth drops wide open.

Onrad's mouth drops wide open.

Onrad recovers and goes out to Talvik. "Talvik, come on in. It is safe enough. You gotta see this!" He reenters the bathhouse.

Gareth says "The blight witches live in......"

Nonam nudges Gareth and says, "Hold on a minute partner. I think I'm beginning to understand why this place makes a great place for a clandestine meeting...."

Nonam moves forward and takes the arm of one of the 'Ladies of Lavation' and says, "Lead on ladies."

Nonam disappears with one of the "Ladies" through the door of fog.

Jus just grins and grins.

Gareth says "The blight witches live in an

Everyone says, "Save it Gareth!"

---------------------------------

Tony says: I tried to send this several times last night until 9:30 PM and AOL wouldn't let me. Sorry.

Jerry says: JK had the same problem. That's why there was no turn on Thursday.

The next turn is due by 7:00 pm Friday.

See yall tomorrow,

Jerry

--------------------------------

Palace of Lavation: Turn 4

Talvik will stand and follow Onrad back into the place. He will do his best to

straighten himself as much as possible when seeing the beautiful maidens.

"Greetings m'ladies." he will say smiling brightly. He will join the party for

what looks to be a wonderful time.

The party is led toward the door of fog.

Flaust declines to join the group, preferring to wait in the main lounge area until everyone returns.

Flaust will spend the time in meditation.

Onrad says, "Come on in Flaust. I don't think we should be separated again so soon. Besides, I'm with you. If this gets, hmm... immoral, I'll leave with you.

The lady dressed in silver says, "Flaust, Greetings! I am Silverwing. Do not worry about the integrity of my establishment. Many priests come here separately and in groups for contemplation and just for relaxing. If you feel uncomfortable, I can give you a tour first. Or, of course you are welcome to stay here in the Juice Lounge. I do have private rooms here to the side ::she motions to a set of doors:: if you wish to partake of their privacy."

She adds to the group, "We do have extensive security here. However, we do not flaunt this as that would take away from the mood we are trying to create here." She smiles warmly. Shall we proceed?

"Let's get on with it," states Nonam.

The Ladies of Lavation take the hands of those entering and lead them into a changing area. There three male halflings take over offering each a toga, robe, or swimming garment with appropriate undergarments. Then they motion toward each toward a private changing area with curtain and ask if they would like something to drink. They have fruit juices with real fruit slices. One of their delicacies is something called the Orange Rum Slice made of orange slices sluiced with rum and dipped in a sugar confection.

Onrad says, "I'd like to try some of those if you don't mind."

"Mmm, delicious. Guys you have to try these!"

Jus enters the steam room with the others, noting where everyone's clothes

are being placed.

One of the halflings notices Jus' disturbed look and pulls back a curtain revealing some lock boxes. "These are available if you wish to place your valuables inside. There is only one key. You may wear it on your neck until you return."

Nonam states, "We want three. Guys distribute your valuables into three parts."

He addresses the halfling, "Sir do you have some sacks?"

The halfling snaps his fingers and one of the other halflings shortly returns with some sacks.

The party puts their valuables into three sacks each and places them in the lock boxes. Nonam gives a key to Gareth and Jus and places the final one on his neck.

A halfing enters after the party has changed and introduces himself as Renton the Bathmaster. He says, "Helo has graciously arranged for a private bath for you so that you can discuss mutual concerns before she enters. Follow me please and be assured that each bathing room is indeed private. If it were otherwise, we would have closed in dishonor long ago."

Gareth follows after everybody else taking one last look over the room

just to be safe. He refuses anything that would require him to change the

location of his sword.

The party follow him down a hallway further into the House of Lavation and through a door into a room about 20'x20' filled with an oval shaped pool. Feeding the pool from one end is a artificial waterfall half hidden in steam which feeds the pool. There are seats in the pool sides and along the walls. Floating baskets of flowers are in the pool. Upon closer examination they also contain various soaps, oils, and perfumes.

Renton motions toward a silent bell near the door and says, "Please ring if anything is desired. Please let me know how we may meet your needs." He leaves and closes the door.

Onrad goes to the waterfall and sees some coals there. He pours some water from a bucket onto them and the room fills with steam and the pleasant noise of steam.

Onrad says, "I think it's safe to talk now."

"I don't have all that much to report," says Jus. "After Gareth and I let

Nonam go to the guild by himself, I wandered around for a while and came

across a cool candle shop. There was a magic-user there that had heard of

Sirden the alchemist. This person, at least, expects Sirden to blow himself

up someday. Unfortunately, there where too many things to see and I got a

little distracted in all the shops. I hope the rest of you could get some

more useful information." After a moment's consideration he asks Nonam, "I

don't suppose anyone at the guild knew anything?"

"Anyone find out more about the Black Bladders?" Jus asks no one in

particular.

Gareth, angry that he amazingly attempted to say the same thing three times

without catching on and being more patient which he would have done had he been

given the opportunity, waits until last and walks in behind the rest of the

group. He carefully observes the room before moving into the steam. He takes

a place near the door and refuses any offer that would require him to change the

location of his sword.

WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY IS PROPER Gareth says "The blight witches live in an estate on

Gold Level and they get their power from a demon named Pantheon. The old man

said that the witches have an apartment across from the Vampires Daughter which

is where the ring is currently located according to him. As far as I can tell

the Black Blades have a place around the Vampires Daughter too. I don't know

who to believe at this point. No one seems to know what's going on exactly. Can

anybody clear it up?"

Onrad says, "So Nonam? It sure seemed important to you to get off by yourself after lunch. Did you accomplish what you intended to?"

The steam encompasses the room and the fragrances begin to have the desired effect. Relaxation and clear thought follow.

----------------------------------

Jerry says: For role-playing purposes and just for fun, please work a description of yourself and what you look like once changed.

Jerry says: I apologize to David for any perceived impropriety in the last turn. I probably shouldn't have put those words in Gareth's mouth. WE have ALL made fun of each others character from time to time. JK and I often put words in each other's mouth and I was just trying to "liven" up the turn a bit. My job, as I understand it is to turn what you send in into an interesting story. It is too easy to make a PC like Gareth the butt of jokes sometimes because he is such a serious character, but then traditionally, in literature, straight-laced characters like Gareth are often used by the party as comic relief. (aka Flint Fireforge in the Dragonlance Chronicles.) It is sometimes hard to know when one can, or should, make fun of, or with, someone and when not to. (Whew, what a run-on sentence.) It is, of course, to David's credit that he has successfully created such a great character.

Jerry says: Keith was very busy on Friday and Saturday and didn't get a turn in. He apologizes.

Jerry says: The first live game will be Monday evening, November 24th, from 7-11pm CST. It wouldn't bother me to start earlier. We will play with three or more. I'd like a tentative yes or no from everyone on Monday.

Jerry says: Thanks to David for his contribution to the construction of the Campaign Folders. I appreciate it.

The next turn is due Monday evening.

Jerry

------------------------------

Palace of Lavation: Turn 5

Flaust, strangely silent, listens attentively to what the party has to say.

Flaust floats out to the middle of the pool, taking advantage of the time to meditate.

Flaust is wearing a dark blue full-body swim suit, along with her dark veil.

Jus listens to the others talk. Oh well, its been a while since he has had

a real bath, might as well enjoy it. As his mind wanders, he wonders what

the word SPEEDO on his deep blue shorts means.

Nonam climbs the waterfall and pretends to jump for an imaginary chandelier and says, "Look! I'm Onrad in a bar fight."

He then does a neat job of touching his toes and diving into the water.

When he comes up he is holding his nose. "I hid 'tha boddom," he manages to say between his fingers.

After washing, Jus quickly knits his hair into a battle braid.

Talvik will lean back , listen, and relax.

Tiburon enters the room clad in swim trunks and a towel, " Hey guys, you oughta see the size of their swimming pool ! It's hugh ! So, What are we going to do ? Has anyone talked to Helo about all this ? " Tiburon goes over to the rocks and pours another dipper of water on them.

"Now this is a place I could get to like," sighs Tiburon.

"Yeah, I agree," comments Onrad.

Onrad continues, "Is there anything else that anyone wishes to say before we send for Helo?"

---------------------------------------------------------

David says: She isn't particularly concerned about nudity, considering her profession as a healer, but is attempting to keep her repulsive scarring covered.

David says: November 24th Monday night is okay for me.

Jerry says: That's one.

Jerry says: I didn't receive a turn from David today.

JK gets the next two turns.

The next turn is due tomorrow by 7.

Jerry.

--------------------------

The Palace of Lavation: Turn 6

Gareth sits by the pool clearly not wanting to get in but not wanting to leave

either. He waits anxiously as he listens to the groups information as he waits

to see Helo. He's never been so interested or embarrassed before.

Talvik folds his arms behind his head and says, "Bring on the Babes!!" He then gets a big smile on his face.

Startled, Flaust abruptly ends her meditation and says, "Something just crossed my mind, I don't know if 'twas a dream, vision, or passing thought. In it, I was facing a mirror, and noticing a white path that we were following through an immaculate building. I heard myself thinking 'sometimes the true path is revealed in the mirror.' The path in the mirror was going to the right, rather than to the left."

Nonam says, "What are you talking about?"

Flaust mutters, "Oh...never mind, it was just so vivid! Probably doesn't pertain at all to our situation..."

Tiburon says, "I have nothing more to add, Let's see what she has to say."

Tiburon sits on his towel and relaxes as he listens to what is said.

Onrad jumps out of the bath and runs and gets Helo. After a few minutes, he returns with the statuesque halfling [giggle]. He then jumps back into the pool.

Helo slowly walks toward the pool, and then she lowers herself into the pool and begins to speak, "Well all of you have questions. So here's some of the things you want to know. It seems the Black Blades are a topic of much interest to all of you, so I'll start there. You've humiliated the Blades in public, and I'm sure that they will want revenge. However, I don't think that you need to worry about them again for some time. In fact they left the Floating City early this morning. They're off on one of their little missions to steal some magic item or another for one of the more powerful members of the town. As far as what the Blades are like, they are your average group of village bullies. None of them are very bright, and they will all do anything for money. There are seven of them. I believe that you've met two already. Bof and Karg. Bof of course is a warrior and Karg is a mage. The others are Gonab, a priest of Ffloy; Thendik, a thief; Mescil, another fighter; Thelissa, a fighter-mage; and the last one is... well... let's just call him the other one. He always wears hooded robes, and no one knows his name or anything about him. However, he seems to be the leader, and is certainly very dangerous. I would guess that he has a little bit of every kind of skill. The Blades came to the Big Float about a year ago, and have served as thieves for hire since then. They call themselves an adventuring group, but I would disagree. Anyway, like I said they left this morning, and judging by how long they are usually gone I'd say we won't see them again for at least two weeks."

"Now the Blight Witches are the next big topic. These three old biddies are pretty much your average witch. They get their powers from Pantheon, who I guess you could call a demon. They aren't exactly your first class citizens, but they don't really cause that much trouble either. They keep to themselves generally... sell love potions... put curses on people. You know the kind of thing. As far as whether they hired the Black Blades to steal the stirring ring, I don't know. It does seem likely though."

"And on to Sirden. Sirden is an old alchemist. He once was apparently quite talented from what I hear, but now he's basically a has been. He gets by selling bug sprays, potpourri, sleep candles, and things like that. The story he told is probably genuine from what I know about him, but it does seem strange because he wouldn't need the stirring ring for the kind of things he usually does. And as far as his apprentice goes, he says the oddest things. He's definitely a dreamer, and I wouldn't ever take street directions from him. However, he is a pretty good judge of character. That's probably the reason he came up to you on the street."

After all this, Helo leans back and says, "Well? Any questions that I didn't answer?"

--------------------------------------------

JK says, Didn't get a turn from John.

---------------------------

The Palace of Lavation Turn 7

Gareth says to Helo "Thanks for the information. Sirden told us the ring was in an apartment around the Vampire's Daughter inn that belongs to the witches. Your friend Daphne said that the witches have a place on the Gold level. Where do you suppose the ring would be? I would expect the Blades to have already delivered the ring. Unlike greedy bullies to not get paid before leaving town. What are the rules here as far as retrieving stolen items? I don't like the idea of jail or court. I

generally like to stay out of that kind of trouble if at all possible. I would rather leave town and go somewhere else before dealing in that sort of thing."

Helo looks at Gareth and begins, "The Blight Witches do live on the Gold Level, and I believe the Black Blades delivered the ring before they left town this morning. Sirden's information was simply a little old. The Black Blades do live by the Vampire's Daughter down on the Trash Level. So my guess would be that the Blight Witches have the ring, and they live on the Gold Level. If you need better directions just ask Nonam. He's been up there." Nonam begins to look uncomfortable but doesn't say anything. Helo continues, "As far as the second part of your question goes, the laws are such that an owner of stolen property has the right to hire someone to steal it back. Most people generally find this a cheaper and quicker solution than court. Unless you break in and physically attack the Blight Witches you won't have any trouble. Murder is treated much differently than theft."

After that part of the discussion is over Gareth asks "Is there some sort

of network that adventuring groups use to trade information and stay in

touch? It seems there are at least two such organization so far. One

relatively good, one not so good."

Helo answers, "Most of the adventuring groups set up their own information networks. Until the time that you are able to set up your own you may count on that of the Red Tigers. I will tell Daphne of this and in the future we will be able to direct you to an appropriate contact in the future."

Talvik will keep listening while casting covert glances around to see if the girls were here yet. Unfortunately he sees no sign of the girls. He hopes they'll come out once Helo leaves.

Flaust says to Helo, "What is your motivation for speaking with us about these matters? Will you perhaps be proposing a joint-venture?"

Helo says, "My motivation is simply to help out a new group. You seven have a great deal of potential, and I would see that developed. The Red Tigers received the same type of aid from the Gold Dragons in the past, and it seemed like a good thing to do. Hopefully one day you will also help a new adventuring group get on its feet. Perhaps one day the future may hold some kind of joint venture, but I'm not thinking of anything immediate."

Flaust, sitting back, muses to herself, "Is a broken coin buried?"

Nonam looks at the halfling and says, "What are you going on about now?"

Flaust answers, "Something has really got my mind to pondering...anyway, the answer must be 'it may be buried, but nothing valuable is discarded', which means that what was destroyed will be re-made."

Nonam snorts.

Tiburon asks, " Do you know if the Blades fight as a team or as individuals ? How powerful are their Mages and Clerics ? "

Helo says, "The Blades generally fight as individuals which is one of their big weaknesses. They're all to concerned with their own personal glory, potential for wealth, or safety to fight well as a team. However, they have been turning into a more cohesive group in the past few months. As far as the potency of their magic goes, I'll tell you what I know about each one individually. Karg, the one you ran across in the bar, relies more on magic items than actual spell casting. The spells he does cast are generally simple, but he has a wide variety of items. I would guess that most of them were given to him by the Black Dragons. Gonab, the priest of Ffloy, is fairly powerful. He has considerable influence in the church. I would point out that your main concern with any of Ffloy's followers lies with their connections to organized crime. Gonab has connections you don't even want to think about. Thelissa, the fighter-mage, can cast some effective combat spells. I know for a fact that she can cast fireball, but she has learned few things besides combat type spells. As far as the 'other one' goes, I would guess that he can cast some spells, but I haven't actually seen him do it. Truth to tell I haven't seen him do much of anything. Perhaps he's a psion..." She seems to ponder the possibility of this last point.

Tiburon shifts position to get more comfortable and asks, " What defenses do the Blight Witches have ? What type of retribution do you think they will try if they lose the ring ? "

Helo says, "I think the Blight Witches main defense comes from the fact that most of the people in town are afraid of them. That's not to say that they do anything to the townspeople, but people are afraid of magic in general and witches in particular. As far as retribution goes, I imagine they'll lash out the person that hired you. In this case, that would be Sirden. Of course if you attack them, then they'll have some motive for revenge. If you just take the ring, I doubt they'll have hard feelings against you. In fact they might hire you to get it back. If you're up for turning on an employer like that. Personally, I wouldn't recommend that type of thing. It's horrible for future business."

Tiburon finally gets his towel straightened out and asks, " Would you suggest we find and return the ring? Wouldn't that just antagonize the Blades even further to have one of their possible capers nullified by us? It would look like we were going out of our way to strike at them, don't you agree?"

Helo says, "Actually I disagree. I don't think the Blades will care one way or the other. After all, they've already been paid for stealing the ring. They've already successfully pulled off their caper. My own opinion on the subject is I think you should probably go ahead and get the ring. My best advice is simply to not attack the witches in their own home. Just get in and get the ring as quick as you can."

Onrad says, "Helo, you've answered our questions about our current situations in the Floating City. I'm curious to find out more about your group. Describe your compatriots for us. Also, if you're willing, I'd love to hear of some of your exploits. There's nothing like a few "big fish" tales to help understand someone."

Helo says, "Well Onrad I would be delighted to tell you about the Red Tigers, but I think it would be better for you to meet them all. How about we have dinner in a few days. I'll check with the rest of the group once they get back in town and send word to Daphne as to when we can all make it. Hopefully you'll all be able to meet then too."

After she finishes, "Thanks Helo for all you've done for us. We appreciate it. Please let us know if there is anything we can ever do for the Red Tigers. And when they return, let's arrange to meet each other, group to group."

Then Onrad says, "Gentlemen, Let's go collect this ring thingee, shall we? I feel the need to adventure! After all, it's been nearly a day!"

Then Onrad grins and says, "Um, Helo. Would you like to join us on this excursion? Does anyone mind?"

Helo says, "Actually, I have some other things that I need to attend to." With that she climbs out of the pool and begins to dry off. She's still in the room though as if waiting for more questions.

----------------------------

Jerry says: I need to get my plans made for Thanksgiving Week. Please get your RSVPs and RSVPnot's in for Nov. 24th. Thanks.

John says: Very busy week with missions. Unable to participate until tomorrow or next day.

David says: Attention ALL!!

I have taken a new job at Samsung corporation. in Richardson, TX. I'll be

starting Monday. My work number and work email are no longer valid (They

work, but I won't be the one with them...) so please don't use them any

more. I'll let everyone know as soon as I have the new ones.

JK says: I made this. Back to Jerry tomorrow.

--------------------------

The Palace of Lavation: Turn 8

Flaust says, "Thank you for your time."

Helo says, "You're very welcome. If you want me, I'll be in town for at least two more days. Daphne can get word to me wherever I am. We have many friends. Ask help when you need it. Among us it is not a sign of weakness but of wisdom."

"Good Day to you Flaust!"

Flaust heads for the changing area to retrieve her regular clothes, then meets up with the group in the lounge.

Gareth says "Thank you for the information. Are the witches more active

at night or in the day? Do they ever leave their house or do they stay

inside all the time? What would you suggest as far as a strategy for

getting in and out unnoticed?"

Helo laughs gently and said, "Truly, I do not know."

Tiburon says," Thanks for your help, Helo. I'm sure we all will think about your words and your ... um...deeds." as he smiles shyly.

Tiburon turns to the others and says, "Are we all agreed that we will take this job ? When should we start ? I think we should go tomorrow after we magic casting folk have tailored our spells for this job."

"I think we 'agreed' to take the job when we took Sirden's money."

To Tiburon, Onrad says, "Do we truly have to wait a whole day for a few spells? Now, I think I remember why Mages are a pain. If that's the case, then we should take the opportunity to let the thieves do their thing. Everyone else has had a chance to introduce themselves to their kind here in The City. What do you think Talvik? Talvik?"

"Oh, no look at him," Nonam nudges Jus.

Jus just grins.

Talvik says, "But Miss Silverwing, what is a Bathhouse without bathing girls? You said I could have whatever would make me happy. I want to me happy!"

One of Silverwing's assistants asks another, "Whatever is a bathing girl?"

The other whispers back to her naive friend.

The first girl blushes, while the second remains pale.

Silverwing begins to turn purple with rage.

Jus winks at Nonam and both of them take Talvik by the arm and lead him out.

"Back to the Glittering Ghost my friends...where supper awaits and a cold bucket of water here for Talvik."

------------------------------------

Jerry says: No turn today from John. (I'm assuming that he's still working on his missions.)

Jerry says: No turn today from Tony. Keith are you working him too hard? Remember, you miss your turn, you take your chances. The DM may want to have some fun with your character in your absence....hehe. Sorry Tony, but that seemed to be the direction you were headed.

Keith says: I'll be there for the 'live' game on the 24th, but I won't have bells on. That's two.

Jerry says: JK has not indicated that he won't be there so I'm counting him as the third person. Therefore the 'live' game on Monday the 24th from 7-11pm is on.

Jerry says: Continue to RSVP and RSVPnot.

The next turn is due tomorrow on Friday, but I'm sure I won't run the turn until Sat. night.

Jerry

-------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 1

Gareth bows stands, bows low and says to Helo as she leaves "Thank you, I

look forward to our next meeting." To the group he says "Lets go back to

the inn and plan a strategy. I suspect it won't be real easy to pull

this off." He impatiently waits for the others to put on their clothes

and then heads back to the Giggling Ghost.

Talvik will leave being escorted by Nonam and Jus. "Good bye to you lovely ladies!"

He says looking over his shoulder. Then he turns to the party and chuckles.

" They liked me, I can tell." Tal will add picking up his gate to walk with the others.

"I agree with Onrad. I think tonight would be an excellent time to 'visit' these witches." He will say nodding in acceptance.

Onrad says nothing until the group arrives at the Giggling Ghost.

When the party enters, Daphne is nowhere to be seen.

Happy enjoins the party to take a table and he'll bring supper.

Onrad speaks, "I agree with Talvik. We can do a reconnaissance of their residence and see what we can discover about their habits. We could also give our thieves a chance to make contact with the thieves guilds. That's a source of information we cannot dare to ignore."

"I agree, Talvik says. After dinner though, I'd like to go to the merchant level, and find out some information about these witches through the guild. I'd rather contact the guild first and learn what we can before scouting the premises." Tal will say to the group. "Maybe they can provide me with a layout of the place." he will add.

Nonam says, "I'd definitely like to memorize some different spells before hitting the Witches or doing a reconnaissance. What I have though is more suited to a spy mission than an assault so I won't disagree.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tony says: No problem.....Ha Ha Ha...a little cold water now and then is good for you...LOL.

Jerry says: I didn't receive turns from Keith or John.

Jerry says: I'm working on experience for the time starting with the turtle barge up until now. I'm thinking that I may start doing weekly experience when I get caught up. There's 80 pages to read between then and now.

Jerry says: Any thoughts on weekly experience?

Jerry says: If anyone is interested in receiving files of the Floating City so far, or of the first adventure, just ask. I have it all.

See yall tomorrow.

The Blight Witches: Turn 2

Gareth asks "Where's Daphne? I miss her company."

Jus asks Happy where if Daphne is okay and where she is.

Talvik will take up a seat with the group. "Where's Daphne?" He will ask looking around?

Happy says, "Geez she has a life of her own you know. Now me on the other hand. I'm always here."

Finally, Tal will try to get someone's attention to order dinner.

While eating, Talvik will turn to Theory, "Lad, what's the shortest route to the merchant level?"

Theory says, "Try the stairs that have the big sign 'This way to the Merchant Level' I'm sure you remember how to get to them. Are you sure that the guild that you're looking for is there? Somehow I doubt it. Personally I'd go to the Trash Level."

Tiburon slowly eats his food and says to the group " So far we have been exceptionally lucky, if we want to stay that way I think we need to plan very carefully and try to think of as many contingencies as possible. I know we want to do this without alerting the Witches, but what will we do if the catch us in the act ? I, myself will start by casting a silence 15' radius at them then try to use Hold Person on them. Does anyone have any problem with that or better Idea ? What is everyone else proposing to do ? "

Nonam says, "I plan on going to sleep. Seriously, if the Blight Witches catch us, I say we just catch their house on fire and run. That's usually worked for me in the past."

Tiburon listens to everyone and when the discussion is finished says " I need to go prepare myself now. I will see everyone here in the inn before we go. Good night. "

Tiburon starts to go upstairs.

Flaust excuses herself for the evening and retires to her room.

Gareth also encourages "I think you guys have a great idea on the information thing. I'll rest until you get back." With that Gareth gets up and heads to bed.

Nonam gets up and heads to bed too.

Onrad says, "Hey wait everyone!" Everyone stops and looks at Onrad, and he continues "There's no way one of us by himself should go out at night. Yeah that's a great way to get us killed. Simple divide and conquer. We're an adventuring GROUP. We do things together! I say we all go. We could all use some work on our stealth if we're going to be adventuring in cities much. Talvik can instruct us. Our strength is in being together!"

Onrad continues: "I hated it when we were separated this afternoon. I just knew something bad was going to happen. I say, never again. That was the mistake the Black Blades made. They were separated. We were together. We won...."

Onrad stops mid-sentence. "Geez, I'm lecturing aren't I? Sorry. I just feel strongly about this."

Nonam says, "Look I'm tired. I don't want to go to a thieves guild. Plus from what I've heard there's more than one in this town, and they all hate each other. What if we get the one the Black Blades' thief belongs to. Won't that cause some trouble. Do you think that they'd would let us all in?"

Jus says, "Tal, I'm surprised at you and Onrad. I thought talking of the

guild so openly was considered bad etiquette. As for preparation, I'll be

glad to take a watch for Nonam to prepare, and any others that need it."

To Nonam, Jus openly asks, "Helo mentioned you went around the house of our

marks. You seemed a bit uncomfortable about this -- as I'm sure most of us

noticed. What happened? Everything okay?"

Nonam says, "Yeah I went and looked at the Blight Witches place. It seemed the best way to get information to me, but I didn't want to argue about it. They live in a regular looking house. Gareth could knock down the front door if Talvik couldn't pick the lock. I only saw one of the Blight Witches. She looked like a feeble old lady. It's hard to tell about magic users though. Oh yeah, I also went in and took this." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a glowing ring. Onrad drops his mug on the floor and gasps, and then Nonam says, "Just teasing. This is my own ring. Not even magic. Just me touching it makes it glow. You know. Seriously though, let me show all of you what the place looked like. I doubt this will help much, but this should be extremely accurate... except for the size of course."

Nonam begins to cast a spell. A miniature version of the Blight Witches' house appears and floats in the middle of the room.

As it floats there, Nonam asks, "Are we going to the thieves' guild or not? Let's vote."

--------------------

David has a new e-mail address.

Jerry reminds everyone: We can't split up anymore. though that may cause some problems, it will cause fewer than sending out separate e-mails to all the different groups. So we either all have to go out and look for the thieves' guild or we all have to not.

JK says: John's back from his secret mission.

-----------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 3

Onrad sits back ordering a drink and some stew while waiting to see what everyone else thinks.

"Onrad, I think I'll join in the lecturing", Jus begins. "We are a group, at least we try to be. I agree we should all be together. However, I think time is slipping faster than a loose knot on a mainstay. We've already had several people identify us from things they have heard -- that happened just a short time before! The friend we were with earlier wanted privacy to talk about everything, yet here we are saying the names of the people we want to meet AND the items of interest. How long until they hear we're coming and prepare a welcome for us? I do NOT want to tell anymore people what we're doing until its already done! Especially a group that could make money off of this! I say let the mages have their time -- as little as possible -- and then lets get going. And even that concession is just because I understand that WE-ARE-A-TEAM, and as the BEST team in our class everyone needs to be prepared to use their abilities to the fullest; so we can rely on each other, work together, and succeed."

Flaust says, "It will only take a couple of hours for me to request a my spells that we might find useful. We'd be better off delaying any action until the wee hours of the morning, when our 'friends' are most likely asleep. I don't care for the thought of hurting these people or burning their place down. We need to get in, take the item, and leave, if we don't want the eternal enmity of these people. I imagine anything of importance will be strongly protected by magic, and it's that we need to focus on overcoming. Being labeled a witch doesn't necessarily mean you deserve mistreatment."

Flaust says, "I like the idea of using a silence spell. I also agree that we need to stick together. We should stay away from the 'guild' for now."

Gareth says "Does anybody have an idea on how we could find the exact

location of the ring in the house? I'm not good at quiet so I doubt

stealth would work real well for me. Maybe we could find out a time when

all or some of them are gone. That would be easier. If you want me to go

with you to the guild I'll go."

Onrad says, "We could go the careful route and set up a 24hr watch on the place to determine their habits, but to me that seems a bit wimpy. It's almost like trying to see how we can best avoid any risk or adventure."

Tiburon says, " I vote to visit the Guild. " Then he turns to Talvik and says " I'll go into the Guild with you if you would like."

Onrad says, "Hmm let's see, Flaust votes against the guild. It sounds like Jus doesn't want to go though he didn't specifically say that. From what Nonam said a few minutes ago, I don't think that he wants to go to the guild."

Nonam agrees.

Onrad continues, "Gareth agreed that he would go to the guild, and Tiburon wants to go to the guild. Talvik of course wants to go to the guild. That leaves us three to three and me to break the tie. In light of everything that's been said, I think that we should wait on going to the guild. I still think we should go, but I think that Jus is right. Too many people know about this venture already. I suggest that we check the place out as a group and then hit the place with a solid plan in place."

Disgruntled Nonam says, "Well here's what their house looks like." He gestures to the image spinning in the middle of the room.

------------------------

Nonam made this turn. Not Onrad.

John has yet another e-mail address for you to add to your list.

John says: Get free e-mail and a permanent address.

-------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 4

Talvik will order another drink and address the party." Perhaps Jus is right. It

might be a mistake to ask more people about our intentions. Surely word will

reach the witches of our plans and I imagine this is something that we don't really want." He says tracing the lines of the table with his fingers.

"Besides, no offense to the group, but I don't think a guild is the kind of place that we should go to as a group. I don't think they would take kindly to alot of armored people hanging about their 'lair'. This in turn would bring some unwelcome results I

believe. We have enough information to carry out our goal. I agree with Flaust, let's

let the casters regain some spells, and pay the witches a visit in the early hours of the morning.

Tiburon looks around at the group and says " O.K. , It might not be a good idea to spread the word around what we are doing. But remember , Helo said the Blades left for probably 2 weeks , that gives us a pretty sizable window of opportunity to plan and execute a strike against these Witches. We can do it quick or take our time and then either look for more adventure or wait to see what turns up. I don't think the Blades will bother us for the moment , I say let's do this now and make plans to handle the Blades IF they bother us later."

Jus says, "So we're agreed. Check out the witches place in the early morning after the spell casters have rested and skip the thieves guild thing for now."

Flaust studies the image of the house, noting the various exits.

"Interesting, Nonam. Interesting." Flaust studies Nonam's face carefully. "I'm going to bed. I'll see you and your plan at 4am."

Tiburon echoes Flausts words with a nod and follows him upstairs to bed.

"Now, let's see what we have here." Tal says scooting closer to the image of the house that Nonam has made. "So, let's pass on the guild.....agreed?" He says raising a fine eyebrow at the group.

"Hey!" Onrad says, "Nonam.....dear Nonam......#said in a sing-song voice# .....How, dear Nonam, did you know that there are four rooms and three interior doors and their location? Hmm? Are there some things about your little outing you're holding out on us?"

Nonam turns red, flusters, and says, "Well, I think that some people have alot to learn about trust! Copy this down so I can go to bed."

After Talvik sketches it with chalk on a table, Nonam turns towards the stairs.

"If you must know, I caught a glimpse of the first inner room while walking past the open door. No I didn't go inside. No I didn't knock on the door while invisible. No I didn't do that either.....whatever else you are thinking I did that I didn't do!"

Nonam stomps up the stairs.

Onrad looks to Gareth and says, "I'm going to watch the hallway upstairs to see that the casters are not disturbed. Would you relieve me in about 4 hours? You guys could possibly use some shut eye too after formulating our perfect plan. If'n you need my opinion on something just come get me."

---------------------------------

Jerry says: I deleted John's or David's turn by accident. I don't know which one. I hit a button by accident and Poof! It was gone. Sorry. I ran the turn the best I could under the circumstances. Sorry again guys.

Jerry says: I'm rethinking the stay together rule. Under certain circumstances, I'm thinking it would be ok for someone like thief to go out and do something by themselves if it is "necessary." It would need to happen between turns so as to not cause anyone else to have to wait on them. I still will not allow multiple turns per day, though.

We can handle the Talvik need to go to the guild, by Talvik and I setting up a time to meet on the phone or online in a private room and just do the thing in one sitting. Of course, David and John couldn't do this. I suppose David could on the phone.

So Tony, how and when do you want to do this? Let's have it happen before the others wake up.....assuming that you would want to.

See ya'll tomorrow.

------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 5

Jus just waits for the others, sleeping if he feels the need and guarding

otherwise until all are ready to check out Witches' place.

Gareth agrees to relieve Onrad in 4 hours and goes to bed.

Nonam will memorize the spells I listed the other day, and then he'll hang out with the group and do whatever they want about the blight witches.

After spells are memorized, Flaust steps outside and picks up a fist-sized stone from the street. Going back to her room, she casts Weighty Chest on it and pockets it for future use.

"Pretty simple layout", says Jus. "As far as how to get in, I'll leave that

to those that are more inclined to that skill. Maybe the others of us should

go along in-case help is needed, but allow the silent types the chance to

search for the item."

Onrad guards the mages sleep for four hours and then wakes Gareth to take his place.

It is now 4:00 am and the party meets in their room to go over THE plan.

-----------------------------

No turn received from Keith or Tony

-------------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 6

The mages and priests begin their chanting and memorizing towards the middle of the night causing Gareth to growl at several of the nearby patrons who open their doors to see what was going on.

At 4 bells, the party makes its way downstairs to the tavern where they are greeted with a smile and some coffee by Talvik of the Red Eyes. Plans and multitudes of maps lie everywhere on the table.

Talvik says, "Gather round friends and let me show you what I've got."

Actions?

-------------------------------

I'm I guess what you'd call rested and nearly well. So we'll pick up where we left off.

Thanks for your patience.

The next turn is due tomorrow, Monday, by 7pm CST.

FYI, I have recruited two more DM's who will be joining us with the New Year: Keith and John. John, in my humble opinion, has a unique understanding of the game and our campaign world which will aid in the communication necessary to operate a multi-DM game. Keith, a member of my local group, has been a part of the Woldian campaign from it's first inception in Lubbock, and is one of the few people in this world that I would label a Master Gamer.

This gives us four DM's. The current plan is for us to partner up and alternate months beginning in January. This should spread the "work" of DMing this campaign around enough that no one gets burned out.

John, you have my go ahead to set up the email forwarding site as we discussed. Once John has this up and running, and assuming it works well, we will all send out turns to this web address and it will forward the mail to the DM for the evening.

This will be necessary for John to DM as he will not have access to AOL and my account as could be arranged for JK and Keith.

John, seems like you told me to remove one of those addresses. Remind me of which one and I'll delete it.

Jerry

---------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 7

Flaust comes over to see what Talvik has planned.

Gareth asks Tavlik "What do you have so far? We'd better not dally, we

only have a couple of hours before daylight." He looks at the maps and

things trying to make heads or tails of it.

Jus listens attentively so as not to miss Talvik's ideas

Nonam looks at what Talvik has found. Then he says, "Wow this is great."

Onrad says, "What is great about it? All I see is a bunch of scribbling and these little hearts drawn everywhere.

Nonam says, "Look, Talvik's fallen asleep. Some thief. I guess we make our own plans."

Tiburon says " I say we go now ,in the early morning, while they are probably asleep and do our best. "

Flaust volunteers to be one of the people to enter the house.

"I agree Onrad says. Perhaps we can decide on something once we are there."

Flaust prepares to follow the group to the house holding open the door and saying, "Well, I think I like this plan."

Jus grins.

Actions?

...........................................

David says: Good to have you back! The land of the living is a better place to be.

Had a good Thanksgiving? We did.

Jerry says: Yes I did. We went to Cousin Gaylon's house on Possum Kingdom Lake. Lots of fun and he has pet pigs too!

John says: Remove the old address. If you don't have that in your address list, you may have two of the same one, so remove one of them.

Jerry says: Gotcha.

BTW: Due to the Christmas holiday, my new computer will not arrive for 4-6

weeks from order. That places my ability to start the co-DM in early to mid

January.

Jerry says: No problem, we'll just let Keith take the first month. BTW, Keith and John, any preference as to with whom you team up? You can choose between JK and me. Don't worry. You won't hurt our feelings much.

John continues: I would love to hear any suggestions for companies to use/avoid,

and components to get/avoid. If you have a suggestion, place it soon... I do

plan to order imminently. One thing to remember, all my time on the phone to

the US, including toll-free, costs me an additional 7 cents a minute. So if

some company gives great service, but you have to wait to talk with

someone... that service won't be so great to me.

In regards to the e-mail. Down to two sites that are promising. One is very

fast, but requires users to log into the Internet site to get the e-mail.

The other is slower if you log into the Internet site, but allows the mail

to be automatically forwarded to other e-mail addresses.

The second would allow everyone to use whatever service provider and e-mail

program they are used to, where the first would be accessed through whatever

service provider and Internet browser they are used to.

The only notable drawback with the second e-mail service is that there is a

delay between the time the service receives the e-mail and the time at which

it forwards the e-mail. Don't have specifics, but any working on it. It

seems about an hour is the longest delay I've seen, possibly related to the

size of the e-mail.

Jerry says: Delay's shouldn't be a problem. I think we're dealing with one now anyway. Just as long as we can get the turns within an hour or so to run the turn at a reasonable time and we don't lose any mail.

Jerry says: Didn't get a turn from Tony.

JK gets the next two turns. Go get 'em JK.

------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 8

"I have to admit," Jus says, shaking his head in wonder, "I expected a

little more of a plan than this...." Merrily laughing, Jus continues, "But I

have to say this will be a lot more fun than I expected! Let's at least have

someone open the door quietly, rather than let Gareth brute his way in. If

we are to die, it would be nice if we at least got through the doorway."

Gareth says "Let's go. I'll be glad to go in but I'm kind of conspicuous. It might be better if I stay outside and be prepared to enter if things go bad.

Flaust asks, "Did we ever decide if a Silence spell was in the plan?"

"Great idea," Onrad muses. "I suppose there's only one way to see if it works. Let's go!"

Nonam says, "No. At least don't cast it on me. I don't want to have my casting ability interfered with."

Tiburon wakes Talvik and says to him , "Come on, we're going to the house now."

Tiburon follows along with the rest of the group and says " Would you like to have me cast a Find Traps when we get there ?"

Onrad says, "No. Talvik should be able to take care of it."

Nonam says, "Yes. It couldn't hurt."

Talvik stirs, "Um, right. I'm with you." He will say and follow behind the cleric. He stretches and works out the stiffness in his muscles to be alert and ready.

Onrad says, "Well then, did a plan come to you while you were....... uh........ meditating?"

The group heads out the door.

Nonam says, "Are we still going to burn the place down?"

Onrad says, "NO!!!"

Onrad sings as they leave...

##We're off to see the witches, the wonderful witches of blight.##

##because, because, because, because, because, because, because##

"Oh, right....stealthy. Sorry."

After a long walk to the Blight Witches' place in the dark of the early morning the group is ready to go into action.

The house looks like most of the others on the street. It's a small one story house that looks like it might have an attic loft. No lights are visible in the windows. It appears that it's either empty or that the Blight Witches are sensible folk who sleep until the sun comes up.

-----------------------

So who tries the door? spells?

----------------------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 9

Onrad whispers, "Wow, it looks absolutely normal."

Gareth attempts to find a tree or something to stand near or around to

establish a post from which he'll keep an eye on things (Since it seems

nobody has an opinion on what he should do). He ends up standing by a pillar in front of the house across the street.

Flaust whispers, "Can anyone detect if any magical alarms are placed on the door?"

Tiburon says, "I can."

Tiburon casts Find Traps and examines the door.

Tib says, "There are no traps on the door. I'll follow whoever into the house and point out any traps. Let's go while the spell is still in effect . "

Flaust whispers, "How about casting a Silence on an item to carry in? That way, the spell casters can choose to leave the area of silence as needed."

Jus whispers to Nonam, "Is it just me, or are we doing this slightly off the

cuff?"

Nonam says, "Isn't that what you always wanted?"

"Was there a back door?" Jus whispers again to Nonam. He also suggests that

a silence spell on the door may be worthwhile; it may have something as

simple as a bell tied inside. "Many of the shops seem to do it."

Nonam says, "That would probably be a good idea."

Onrad whispers, "Um, the silence spells would be good now."

Onrad whispers, "Gareth, our strength is in numbers. I say we stay together. How about putting the silence spell on you?. I've got my leathers on. And that metal armor certainly is noisy."

Nonam says, "Flaust it's up to you. Cast it on the door, an object, or Gareth (if he's willing). What kind of range does the spell have? You know, so I can get out of range quickly."

Jus waits impatiently for Talvik or Tiburion to do their things and open the

appropriate door.

Flaust pulls the enchanted rock from her pocket, preparing to play 'Catch'.

Onrad motions to Talvik. "Talvik, if you would open the door please."

Onrad muses, "Gee, I feel so evil."

----------------------

The Blight Witches: Turn 10

Whispering, Jus says to no one in particular, "I'm sure no one will notice a

small group of people meandering outdoors, before daylight, trying to open a

door, and casting spells." To Talvlik he says, "Let's get to it, I'm getting

bored." With a wink to Gareth he finally adds, "Any more boredom and I'll

have to help things along."

Onrad grins and looks both ways down the street and prepares to enter. "Cast the spell," he whispers.

Talvik will smile and pull out the appropriate picks for the kind of lock

which is before him. If the winds of fate are with him, he will pick the lock.

If successful, he will push open the door, and slide into the side. Getting out

of the way of the rest of the group......After a quick scan of the room he will look for

shadows to conceal himself into...a coat rack with 3 black robes on it.

When Talvik opens the door and moves in, Tiburon will follow, scan the room for traps and move out of the way for others to enter. He points out any traps he finds to everyone.

Gareth agrees to having the spell placed on him, notices that no one casts it, takes his place at the front of the party, and steps through the door and into the center of the first room. "Crunch, squeek, crunch." He looks around to see what he can. He proceeds motions to the others - specifically Nonam - to point to the most likely place to search.

All, except Gareth, is silent. All is well.

Flaust, pondering to herself that no one cast the silence spell thinks, 'I don't need bells to tell me this is trouble,' and mutters to herself, 'I don't like the feel of this...'

(ooh, wow! We can hear Flaust's thoughts! I wonder if that is a spell, ability, or just one of those strange things that happen when the DM is in an easy mood.)

Flaust, not having a Silence spell to cast, scrugs her shoulders at Nonan and proceeds to her doom.

Nonam points at the right door then at the other two in order. He then takes up a position in the back right corner of the room.

Flaust holds the stone and notices that it has not become silent.

Flaust then walks over to the door on the left and places the stone at a critical door, in an attempt to block it.

All is silent. Gareth's armor creaks as he breathes. All is well.

(I love you David.)

Onrad, moves to the right door and positions himself beside it. He then motions to Keith to examine the door. He also motions to Talvik to close the entrance door nearly all the way.

All is silent. All is well. (except Gareth who squeaks)
