The Online Campaign

The End of the First Adventure and The Beginning of the Next

Turns 1-4 and Turns 1-5

Notes from the Jericho: We begin a subtle change with this set of in-between turns that led to what I call the True Beginning of the online game...the moment we start to make the game outstanding. It was almost as if we made a group breakthrough about this time. To prove my point, compare any set of 5 turns with any 5 of the turns that take place in the Floating City. The difference is amazing.

The End of the first adventure: Turn 1

Gareth says "I don't know about you guys, but I'm hungry. Let's go to the inn,

divide our treasure and get ready to go to the city. I don't like having to

wait to get paid."

Nonam agrees and suggest that we spend the night and split up the treasure that was found.

Jus' eyes light up and says, "Yeah and we can get some coffee and watch the dancing girls."

He elbows Nonam.

"Dancing girls! Wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more?"

The party descends on the "Tears of Serenbeth Inn" and begins to celebrate, count out the treasure and whistle at the dancing girls. The town celebrates with the party over the return of Erilyn and drinks and rooms are on the house!

--------------------------

David and JK, if you guys will come to consensus about the treasure we can handle it in one turn.

As far as experience goes, we'll go with a story bonus of 2,000xp for everyone who played the whole game, which is Jus, Gareth, and Nonam. As far as monsters go, I'll let JK handle that and email us since he has the module. He can also handle any identifications.

I received Keith's character sheet and it was in pristine form as far as I could see. Keith I need your memorized spells. Sunday, ask me for Domi's priest write-up and you can type it in for me and email it back. Keith if you wish to use Appendix II of the handbook, you may enter the game at 2nd level if you want. You also have the choice of starting at 0 xp or at the amount necessary for 2nd level. I suggest you enter at 2nd level so as to help the group as much as possible.

See your responses tomorrow,

Jerry

----------------------------

The End, Turn 2

After the party, Gareth says "Let's go to the rooms and decide how to divide up

the treasure and get organized for our trip to - what did you call it? The Big

Float?

When they get to the room Gareth unloads his stuff. 19 GP, 25 sp, 432 cp, 3

silver bracelets, gold broach, gold drinking goblet, sling & 4 bullets, 3

daggars, 3 battle axes, one sheathed sword, 1 ring, 1 large silver spearhead, 3

gems, 5 scrolls (3 spells, 1 treasure map, 1 commands for snake), 4 potions

(shrink, sweet, speak, swim), 1 metal cobra, 1 tinder box. He says "Have we

missed anything? Chala took the scimitar.".

"Can anybody tell if these weapons are magical? The ones that aren't and noone

wants we can sell as well as the gold trinkets and the gems. I want the tinder

box, my share of the money, one battle axe for chopping wood, and one of the

swords if it is magical. I also think we should hold onto the treasure map and

see if we can use it. Perhaps the innkeeper can tell us a good weapons and a

general store that will give us a fair price for the weapons and stuff?"

Jus says, I think Nonam can...but look! He's fallen asleep! I guess all of this excitement has worn him out.

I suppose it costs money and stuff for Nonam to identify stuff so that should be taken off of the top before we divide the money. Should we make one share a party fund to take care of things like this?

To Gareth Jus says, "Well, as it seems only you and me are interested in the treasure buddy and I trust you implicitly, go ahead and divide it up and we'll see if any sparks fly."

As far as being ready to travel to the Bit Float, I'd like to stop by a supply store and get some rations, perhaps exchange some money at the changers and I'm ready to travel.

.................

Jerry, I'll leave it to you to expedite the appraisal and identification of the

stuff. Just tell us what it is so we can get going.

JK's character should be able to handle the identifying. Besides he has the module. I haven't heard from him in a couple of days. Will call him tonight. JK, this is all yours buddy.

How are we going to handle training and jumping levels? Example:

Without monster XP I have 3500+ XP. If I get 500 XP more from monsters or treasure

(depending on your answer to my previous email) I will have enough to move to

level 3 fighter. Are you requiring training between levels and suspending XP

until training is completed? Example: If I hit 4001 XP I can't get any more XP

until I train. Also, how about hit points? As I recall from previous email you

said to start with maximum HPs. Are we just assuming the max as we move up in

level or do we need to roll? If rolling, what are the rules? The facts...just

the facts...

Your friend,

Friday

David, I put this in here for the other's benefit....if there are any others...hehe. According to the rules you can advance only one level, but that means you can go through the next level minus one xp. Since you will have only advanced from 1st to 2nd it works out.

Kids, I have added LILASEVEN, one of my online friends from when I was working for Kids!WB as a chat room host. She was curious as to what we were doing.

I can't reach Kevin who is supposedly staying with his parents while some work is being done to his house. I'm not planning on including him in the next adventure. He should have been more responsible to get back with us and explain why his account isn't active with AOL anymore.

Keith is ready to go.

I'm going to allow Keith's roommate to join us as we need bodies. Keith, have him send me a short bio of himself and his gaming xp so we can get to know him. Have him go ahead and roll up a character and send it in asap. I'd like to add him with you on the same turn say about Tuesday or so.

We have a Fighter: Gareth (David)

Archer: Jus (John)---played by me until he gets to his island out in the Pacific.

Sage: Nonam (JK)

Cleric: Tiburon (Keith)

Sorry for no turn on Thurs. Night. AOL wouldn't let me on late and when I tried early this morning, it was shut down for maintenence for a short while and I didn't have time to wait.

I'll type at you all on Monday,

Jerry

--------------------------

The End: Turn 3

Nonam quickly sorts through all the items spread out before him and begins to go into a trance.

He looks up quickly and says, "Well?"

Jus answers, "Oh, sorry Nonam. We'll leave you alone. Come on Gareth, It's time for us to go get another room for a couple of days."

Two days later and looking very weak, Nonam sends for Gareth and Jus and begins his report on the treasure.

"OK, there is a silver spearhead wrapped in velvet (this isn't magic just silver), 4 blue gems (value 50gp ea), a shortsword (normal), a broad sword (+1), a scimitar (+1 & Chala took it!), a long sword (+1), 2 daggers (+1), a quiver of 24 arrows (+1), a ring (200gp), a scroll with 2 spells on it (hold portal and scare)[Nonam claims this], and a wand with the word 'sizzle' inscribed on the handle (wand of shocking)[Nonam claims this].

"In the other treasure there were 5 scrolls in ivory tubes (tubes worth 25gp each). I've written down here what is on each one."

He hands the others a ragged scrap of paper that reads:

1st scroll = phantasmal force & mirror image (cast and 3rd level)[Nonam claims this]

2nd = same as the first[Nonam claims this]

3rd = protection from poison

4th = treasure map

5th = command words for the iron cobra

He then says, "The four potions turned out to be diminuition, sweet water, ventriloquism, and water breathing.

"The copper pieces were under an illusion. They are actually gold.

"Last, but not least, the snake, which is called an "iron cobra" is worth 2000 gp.

"The things with the tags bearing my name are what Nonam I took in the dungeon. I'd like to split the money evenly, I'd also like the magic daggers. I understand that I got a lot of scrolls, and will make no scene if one of you two fighters feel the need to claim the daggers although I could definitely use them.

"Gentlemen," he continues without a hint of a smile, "We did ok."

"Now get out again. I need to rest."

Gareth and Jus gather up the treasure and leave silently listening to Nonam's snoring as he begins to recover from his efforts.

Jus jumps for joy and hugs Gareth, "We're rich! We're Rich! Whoooooo!"

Jus then turns serious and says, "Come Gareth! We must determine what to keep, what to sell, and what to keep! We should take care of this now and be ready to travel when Nonam recovers."

-----------------------

Keith, I will be ready to introduce you on Monday or Tuesday. It would be great if your roommate (What is his name again? Sorry, but I'm bad with names, ask anybody) could have his character to me by then so we could introduce you together.

JK, I hope you don't mind my turning your report into a conversation. David, I'll let you go ahead and decide what to do with the unclaimed treasure. Then, I'll total it up any part you are selling, rolling dice to see what kind of price you get.

I'd suggest you wait to do any shopping until we get to the Big Float. But, if you insist, so be it.

Jerry

--------------------------

The End: Turn 4

Gareth says "I know you want the longsword and I imagine you want the arrows

too. I'll take the broadsword as a backup, the potion of water breathing, and

the treasure map and case. You can have whatever else you want. I suggest we

leave the daggars for the magic user. I think we should sell the rest except

the gems as they are lighter to carry. I see we have 419 gp, 25 sp and 32 cp so

far. Let's sell the rest and then divide it up. I have no objection to giving

Nonam any money he lost figuring all this stuff out. The addition of the

daggars should make him happy. I think we should definitely sell the snake

unless you have other ideas. We should keep the scroll case that have the

command words for Nonam. If you don't want the potions I'll take them."

Jus says, "That sounds good to me Gareth."

Gareth makes a pile of the items to sell and as soon as he gets agreement he

goes to find someone who will buy them.

The items to sell are:

spearhead, ring, short sword, 1 dagger (non-magical), iron cobra, scroll with

control words for cobra (less case), 2 battle axes, 3 silver bracelets, gold

broach, gold drinking goblet, sling w/ 4 bullets.

Nonam will spend any extra time trying to copy the spells he found into his book.

The next day, the party sets out for the Floating City...Nonam to find the sage, Jus to fulfill his lifelong dream, Gareth....well who knows what goes through the mind of a fighter at a time like this.

The next day they leave the country town of Edenmoor. The town gets up early with them and sends them off with an impromptu parade...

"Hooray for The Heroes Three!"

"Hip, Hip.....hooray!"

The party leaves with sad thoughts for the one that died, the tragedy of Erilyn's life, and a grand hope for the future.

Towards the afternoon they arrive in Huxwell and spend 5gp to ascend the lift to the 1st Plateau. As the lift carries them 5,000' up the cliff, they marvel at the panorama of the scene that unfolds before them. Looking north, they see Dourscale and the Red Hills. In the extreme distance they can just make out the foreboding peaks known as the Scab.

Jus says, "I want to go there someday. That's for sure!"

Nonam says, "It probably rains alot."

Jus says, "Yeaaahhh. I bet it does."

Gareth, says, "Don't you two ever stop?"

At the same time:

Nonam says, "No."

Jus says, "Yes."

Looking west they can see Edenmoor and the Badlands with Culverwood Forest in the distance.

Looking around as far Southwest as the cliff allows, they can just make out the Dark Lotophagi Ocean.

After what seems like ages of swinging back and forth in the breeze, they reach the top. Going through customs at Niffwig Castle, the Oathbinder asks the group to register as an official adventuring group of New Elenna. The cost: 25gp. As Nonam fills out the forms, he turns to the party and says, "The form calls for us to have a name. So who are we?"

---------------------------------

David says: Jerry, do you want to roleplay the trading and selling of stuff or not? I would

rather you gave us a price and we move on. I will, however, be glad to do it if

you feel strongly about it. Sorry I missed last turn. I didn't see it before I

left work and did not check email over the weekend.

Jerry says: No let's not role-play it. I'd like to be moving on. JK would you total up the total received for the items sold please? We can work out the details if there are any as we proceed below the line.

JK says: OK, here's what I came up with for xp. For the monsters, Gareth and Jus both get 260xp. For spells cast Nonam gets 250xp, (50 more if we count the identify).

Nonam and Gareth both had a hero point. So 200 each there. (I don't know if Jus had one or not). So with the 2000 that you gave, I estimate that I have 2695 (2000+450+245(10%bonus). Gareth would have 2706 (200+460+246).

Now Jus gets 10% to his mage class but nothing to his fighter class. And since he never cast a spell it seems to me most should go to the fighter class. Anyway he would have 2260 +any hero points he may have gotten +10% to whatever amount you decide should go to his mage class.

This amount does put Nonam to 3rd level, so should I be one point away from 3rd?

Jerry says: That is correct.

Jerry says: Kevin got messed up by AOL. After billing his MasterCard correctly for two months, they got the number wrong and closed his account when the number didn't match currently listed MasterCard. Kevin got very mad at them and quit AOL. He's currently looking to get started with a web provider. I think he's going to check out Webfire here in town this week. He thinks he can get a trial offer of 1 month to see if it's what he wants. He asks for your patience and hope we'll let him join after he's settled. I told him that with the proper bribe we'd consider it.

Jerry says: Tina's mom says that John and Tina arrived on the island Saturday night alive and well. Hopefully we'll hear from him soon. I'm sure he'll want to know all the "wonderful" things I've done with his character in his absence."

Jerry says: Let's try to handle this name thing in one turn, please. So put forth your names and let's move on. You can always change your name later if you want to. There is a line behind you and the Oathbinder is impatient. Hehe.

See ya'll tomorrow,

Jerry

-------------------------

The Beginning: Turn 2

Nonam says, "This is silly. What do we need a name for?"

However he understands bureaucracy, and Nonam proposes the following names, "The Three Dragons," "The Three Heroes," and "The Three Adventurers."

Jus smiles to himself and says, "Hmm."

Gareth summons all his creative ability and says "How about 'The Adventurers'?

I'm not much for names. Let's just get going."

Jus smiles wanly and says, "Not quite it."

Then Nonam becomes slightly more thoughtful and says "The Three."

Jus smiles and nods his head grinning from ear to ear. "The legendary duo known as Fafhrd and the Grey Mouser of Lankhmar call themselves The Twain. I like it!"

Nonam also says with a smile, "You know it would be funny if we named ourselves 'the Three' and never changed it even if we had more members." Then he opens his mouth and stares at Jus in horror exclaiming, "I've been around you way too much."

Jus finishes the form and says, "Finished. There ya go."

He hands the form to the Oathbinder and turns to the other two.

"Three, we're off to seek our fortunes, defeat the bad guys, and become famous. Let's be off."

The Three head exit the castle, make their way through Niffwig, and proceed north to Ryanno.

As they leave the affluent village, they notice a unique phenomenon. Their feet seem to glide about 10 feet with each step. In fact, they move at a comfortable pace equal to the speed of a jog even when standing still.

Nonam remarks that all the major roads on the First Plateau are this way. They are known as Roads of Comfort. The Teucri, a strange people who lived here before us made them. They also made the Floating City.

Jus dances around Gareth and says, "Wowwwww."

Gareth snorts.

The party continues skirting the cliff to the Northeast arriving in Ryanno just before sunset. They find an inn of repute named The Red Horizon for the beautiful sunsets visible from its porches on the edge of the cliff.

The next morning, the party rested and relaxed after the previous evenings sunset, heads SE from Ryanno towards Closefuddle at the NE corner of the plateau. A couple of hours later, they hit the turnoff to the Floating City and turn inland.

This road, although not a road of comfort, is dotted with fresh fruit stands, and comfort stations and the walk is pleasant. Sometime after lunch, they come over a low hill and spot the Floating City for the first time. The sight takes the breath away.

Sitting in the middle of a beautiful lake in the bottom of a lush valley sits a columned structure with 5 distinct levels. Castles and temples dot the edges of the city and cover the top level growing ever taller leading to a huge arena that sits in the center of the top level. Over that supported with four huge pillars is the Overlord's Castle.

The party excitedly enters the valley and circles the lake to the west. There sits a small village named Beetlebug. The opulence that faces the main boulevard, masks the poverty of the streets and alleys beyond.

On the wharf is a strange sight indeed. Floating tied to the wharf at least a dozen HUGE turtles. At least 30' from head to tail, these beasts have ropes connected by poles attached to their shells...just as a barge would. A voice from one of the turtles rings out, "Last call for boarding. All aboard for the Big Float."

Rushing past The Three, two young adventurers race toward the boat. One yells, "Hold, friend! We would ride your fine beast! Hold!"

They hurry aboard. The captain looks around and spots The Three. "Hail Adventurers! Need a lift?"

------------------------------------

David says: With previous experience (943), gold, hero point (200), new XP (2706), and 10%

bonus, Gareth is above 3rd level experience. So that makes him second level

with 4000 XPs. I rolled an 8 for hit points. (Can I add one for the hero point

to the roll or is it 20%?)

Jerry says: Hmm......actually hit points is an exception to the rule. Hero points cannot be used in advance to this particular roll. It may be used to reroll the hit points roll, but not to add to it. Sorry for the inconsistency David. It has never come up before. I'll adjust the House Rules to compensate. Thanks. 1xp for finding the inconsistency.

Jerry says: Keith and Tony! There was your entrance. It's up to you from here to introduce yourselves and to become accepted as a part of The Three. Remember guys, we play weekdays. Welcome to the game fellows!

----------------------------

The Beginning: Turn 3

Nonam follows Jus and Gareth and gets onto the turtle. He tries to do it without using his hands. (Dex is 18) He doesn't want to leave glowing fingerprints on anything in front of all these people.

As the party gets on the barge, the two adventurers that rushed past them excitedly approach and proceed to hit the party with a barrage of conversation and praise.

The taller of the two, an elf, speaks first.

"Adventurers?" Speaking to the three.......

"I too fancy myself as being an adventurer." The Elf says placing a hand on his chest.

"I do apologize for cutting in front of you getting on the...err.....Barge" he says looking around.

"The way my luck has been going, I was sure I was going to miss the boat....Uh, turtle." He chuckles.

" My name is Talvik."

Talvik is an elf. Around 5'2" tall, slim build with long black hair and almost steel colored eyes. He's wearing leather, soft boots, a cloak, pack, and gloves. All of these are black in color, but his pants are a deep burgundy. Sheathed on his left hip is a long sword, and a short sword is on his right. A burgundy leather thong is tied around his head to keep his mane from getting into his eyes......

At the same time that Talvik speaks and continuing so that both are talking at the same time the other adventurer, short and human says:

"Adventurers ?..." , Tiburon said as he skids to a stop.

"Good sirs, are you really Adventurers ?"

"I and my friend here are going forth looking for others to adventure with. You don't , by chance, need a healer to aid you in your ventures do you ? ".

The lad talking is short but stout, about 5' 4" and around 175 lbs. He has raven black hair and ice blue eyes. He is adorned in Splint Mail and shield, wearing a mace on his right hip and a long sword in a scabbard on his right hip. His shield sports the symbol of Domi and there is a matching Holy Symbol hanging on a thong around his neck.

Jus turns to Nonam and grins, "We could use a Cleric. We could definitely use another elf."

To the elf Jus says, "What is your area of expertise, sir Elf?"

Jus drops his perpetual grin and becomes serious for a moment. Then he looks both of them in the eye as if he is examining their souls and says, "Are you brave? Will you stand with us back to back in the face of overwhelming odds? Will you risk your life for the survival of the group? Are you willing to tie your lives with ours in a way that is closer than brothers?"

The conversation drops off for a moment as the turtle, with a snort that echoes across the lake, begins to swim toward the city in a lazy curve. The smell of the water along with the beautiful farmland in the background behind the spectacular view of the approaching city assails your senses.

Jus pulls on Gareth's shirt and grins once more saying, "I'm getting excited!!!"

-------------------------------------

Jerry says: Here is Tony's Hello to everyone. His email address has been given to you. Please add him to your address macro.

Hi Everyone!

First let me thank you all for letting me play in the e-mail game you

have created.....

I'm Tony .....I'm Keith's roommate...(don't hold that against me please!)

I work at a pizza place with Keith...I like sports (golf, tennis, bowling). I have a great sense

of humor...and just like to have fun.

I'm 31 and have been playing RPG's for quite some time. I hope to get to know everyone and I'm sure we'll have a great time gaming!!!!!

JK says: Don't forget that Gareth gets 4 bonus hit points from con. Jus gets none, and I get 2.

I rolled a 1 for my hp, so I used my hero point and rolled a 3. So that's 5 with the con bonus. Gives me 11 all together.

Let me know if you need these character sheets back before Sunday.

Jerry says: David and JK, since going up a level causes significant changes to your character sheets, please make the necessary changes to yours and resend it. Include memorized spells and new items attained.

In the Online game, JK, let's make a rule that when you roll new hit points that you get at least half of the possible each level. Keep rolling until you achieve that or above. Example: With a mage, who gets a d4, keep rolling until you get a 3 or 4. Example: With a fighter, keep rolling until you get 6-10. So if you wish, JK, start again and save your hero point.

Well, gentlemen, I'll see you all tomorrow.

Jerry

------------------------------

The Beginning: Turn 4

Gareth stands quietly sizing up the two newcomers ready as always but

non-threatening in posture. When he's satisfied that they are no threat he

begins to look around at the lake and the land surrounding it. He says "I've

never seen anything like this before. It's beautiful!"

He asks the guy driving the turtle "How long to the floating city?".

The guy answers, "We'll be there before you know it sir."

Then the driver says to the turtle, "Double-time Clarence."

The turtle snorts and his long head extends out from its shell. It extends back around its body until it's face is before Gareth. It sniffs. Then it licks Gareth on the face with a tongue at least 2 feet across, actually smiles and recoils his head. The speed picks up as the turtle literally makes waves. The city explodes in your vision as it approaches. The size of it is enormous.

The driver looks at Gareth in surprise and says, "It likes you??!!" I don't understand. Clarence likes no one. He never has. Then he turns to Clarence and says, "Clarence, I'm so proud of you. I think you've made a great choice."

Speaking to Jus, Talvik says crossing his arms ," I really don't profess any area of expertise, although I can thank my foster father for showing me the ways of locksmithing."

"As for being brave," the elf says turning to look out across the lake, "Well, I guess

we'll just have to see if I meet your expectations."

"But if accepted into the group, I will guard your lives as though it was my own." He

says turning to Jus," There are no jewels I have found that compare to the value of friendship." His voice becoming low and monotone. "This I know." He stares across the lake for a time.

"So tell me," Talvik says coming out of his trance, "What is in store for us here?"

Jus answers, "We're here initially to meet a sage who employed us recently. We will report on our findings and then," Jus grins...."And then we'll see what fortune has in store for us."

Tiburon then looks Jus in the eye and says, " I will fight with you, good sir, until the last breath leaves my body," says Tiburon. "My skills and powers will be used to strengthen and heal this group , if you allow it. This I swear by my Lord Domi whom I serve now and forever."

As he says this oath, Tiburon clutches his Holy Symbol and bows his head.

"Again, my name is Tiburon, and I bid you well met. Your names and professions are....?"

"Jus answers. I am Jus the Elf. I am a Warrior and an archer. Nonam there is a mage of import. Gareth, an extraordinary fighter."

-----------------------

David says: Hey JK, do you have gold totals yet for that list of stuff?

I will be leaving for Atlanta in the morning on business and I may not have

opportunity to get my email until Sunday night or Monday night. I'll try to

answer the turn if I see it tomorrow AM before I leave.

Thanks for the notice David. Have a good trip.

Jerry says: I didn't receive a turn from JK today.

Jerry says: I received two emails from John today. He was experimenting with different services to see which would be reliable. I've added both of them to the macro for now so that he can get this turn. I'll catch him up with the turns he has missed as soon as he is ready and he will take back over Jus and try to undo the damage I have done to his character....Muhahaha.!!

John, again let me know when you're ready to catch up. Also let us know when you're ready for us to send you emails and which address or addresses [grin] it will be.

Jerry says to Keith and Tony: Please begin using your character names to identify who is speaking before opening your quotation marks. It keeps me from having to add them when I cut and paste the conversation together. If it's redundant, I'll remove it. Also, I use a block paragraph form, so there's no need to indent. No big deal.

I'm very happy with how things are going. You two guys are naturals.

Jerry says: Hi Lila! Bored yet?

I'll see ya'll tomorrow,

Jerry

----------------------------------------

The Beginning: Turn 5

Nonam nods his head at the two new comers and waits for the turtle to finish crossing the lake.

Tiburon exclaims in awe, "I have never seen such a city! Are there many more such sites? Can we travel there and see them? I'm sure that our future will be long and prosperous." Turning to look at the others he says," Tell me of some of your adventures, I'd love to hear some of what our future holds."

Jus says: Aye, when we've had our fill of this place, we can visit Plateau City, The City of Adventurers! It is said that adventuring groups there are so rich that they keep their money in the Temple of Wealth, because the banks can't hold it all. It is also said that if you hang out in Adventurer's square, rich adventurers throw their old magic items into the crowd and give away bags of gold to every thief who wants one.

As the city towers over you, Clarence pulls into the dock. The smells of fish and trash mixed together assails your nostrils. A half-dozen smart-looking lads race over offering their services as guide. They hold fliers labelled "Korbo's Transport." (see your campaign folder)

Jus says, "Nonam, smell the fish? Good huh?"

__________________________________________________________________

Keith says: I forgot that specialization gives you a +1 to hit and +2 to damage when I sent you Tiburon's char. sheet. The correct THAC0 for his Long Sword should be 19 and the damage should be 1d8+2/1d12+2

Jerry says: Keith, each time you change your character sheet, simply send it to me via attachment or email and I'll replace the old one. It easier for me that way.

Jerry says: Tony, did you send in a turn Friday? I didn't get one. [smile]

JK Says: Yes, you have to have the spaces when mailing from aol to aol.

David, I haven't put out the prices yet because I was waiting to sell the items in floating city, but here's what everything will sell for once we sell it: silver spearhead (8gp), ring (Nonam was happy to discover that this was a black pearl ring worth 550gp), short sword (8gp), 1 dagger (non-magical) (1gp), iron cobra (2000gp), scroll with control words for cobra (less case) (included with the cobra or the guy wasn't going to buy it), 2 battle axes (8gp), 3 silver bracelets (these turned out to be dwarven made 800gp), gold broach (The broach was made by none other than Rokstor, the finest Dwarven craftsmen of the last two centuries - 2000gp), gold drinking goblet (this was made in Ailsildur before they were isolated - 300gp), sling w/ 4 bullets (Nonam couldn't get much for this and gave it to a little kid). Grand total 5675gp. Nonam used the money to buy gems as they are easier to carry. He got a brilliant blue marble sized sapphire worth 1500gp, a deep purple golf ball sized oriental amethyst worth 1500gp, and a candy red nickle sized fire opal worth 1500gp. Then he got three teensy tiny green emeralds worth 350gp each. The remainder he changed into 9pp. While he lost a few gp in the conversion process, he assures the group that he bargained well.

Jerry, I rolled the ring on the gems table and the bracelets, broach, and goblet on the objects of art table in the dmg. If you think the prices are too high then just change them.

Jerry says: JK, you missed that Gareth and Jus sold the stuff back in the village while you were recovering from Identifying the items. So they are sold already. The amounts are somewhat high, but....well.....Bring on the Thieves!!!

Jerry says: JK, did you include a 10% cost for exchanging the money into gems? Is the reason for the three gems so that each character gets one? Who gets what is what Gareth and Jus want to know.

John says: Hello one and all from the island paradise of Kwajalein (well... I'm

currently at work on Roi-Namur). We have been here since last Saturday

(your Friday) and are slowly getting over the shock. The weather is hot and

humid, sleep is still in short supply, grocery shopping is a new

experience, and our back-ends are not used to riding bikes again.

Other than that, things are good. ;)

We are just about broke from the time we had between jobs; but will

probably just squeak through. The frantic fray against our unyielding yard

in Colorado Springs, the cost of a day for the family at Disneyland, 3 days

in Hawaii, and then -- to top it off -- the purchase of 2 adult bikes and a

burly for our primary transportation are weighing heaving on our bank

account. (Yes, you're supposed to feel sorry for us for having an -- almost

-- 2 month vacation, and no house or utility payments.)

Delania has started pre-school. She has only attended one day, but

absolutely loved it. They have a "messy art" class once a week where she

was able to cover herself in whipping cream. I guess they now how to cater

to children here.

Tina has already met about a dozen people and is quickly becoming friends

with the lot.

I can claim the boast that I have eaten at almost all the establishments of

both Kwaj and Roi-Namur. Only 1 more Cafe to go to make all 5.

We have set up an account to allow a central point

where we can forward all mail from. So, please address all mail (and

useless humor - Sara) to:

If any of you are interested; this e-mail service through netaddress is

free, remains yours for life, and can be set up to forward mail to multiple

accounts (which I am doing).

Let me know if you want to hear more sensless rambling about the Kwaj

experience and I'll write more as things progress (I still owe Tina's

parents descriptions of our entire trip to TX, CA, and Hawaii).

Later for now,

Jerry says: Well, Robinson Crusoe, sounds like you're really roughing it. Ridden any ostriches yet? (obscure Swiss Family Robinson referencej)

Jerry says: Everyone add John's new email address to your address macro.

John also says: Send the old turns onward to my address. Again, I will be

sending e-mail primarily from this address, but the usa.net is a bit more

reliable and will forward the mail here.

Later,

Jerry says: I'll mail the old turns tomorrow (Mon.)

Jerry says: John, will this transfer thing allow you to do daily turns?

Jerry says: John, I noticed that Joey Chapa's email address was on your address list. Have you approached him about our game?

David says: 1 XP!! Does that mean if I start a fight I get to be third level?!!??

Jerry says: 1 xp should put you up to third level. That's why I gave it to you...:) David, I think you missed out on a turn. Let me know if I need to resend.

I don't really expect to receive this one back on Monday seeing that no one is at work. If not, I'll wait until Tue night to send the next one.

Jerry
