There was a fan from Japan who even wrote a novel "Deep Blue" on gays using his and Chin Ka Lok's characters in "Burning Flame". What? Wong Hei and Chin Ka Lok playing gays? On the same day, the writer and Wong Hei went to Tai Long Wan for waves surfing. He didn't mention that the day before was his birthday, the writer didn't asked because he didn't even know. Therefore he carried on with his waves while the writer watched the cacusians playing volley ball on the beach. During the photo session, we don't have to care whether Wong Hei was half nude or whether he has any muscles cos he's not concered about that and he does everything he could for his job. Looking at the beautiful waves from the China sea, he said "Wow, that's great !" Wong Hei reveals that he is not immune to life; he has social responsibility; he does not force others to accept him; he will not use his own personal stuffs for self promotion. He only does like people who are lazy.

Wong Hei reveals that he will not reveal his past; his past before 1992, the time when he entered the entertainment line. He feels that if he has to use his past for personal promotion for some benefits in return, he is betraying his family, his friends and even himself. They don't have to become his tools for promotion cos he doesn't have their permission. Moreover he's sure that even if he's in this line, he will not forgo his way of life. He will still go to Temple Street; he will still take bus, take the MTR. He cannot stand the way people look at him as if he was being read. Therefore he will insist not revealing his past. If there is one day when he feels that he has to do that, that would be a very sad day cos this would be his last bullet. It would even be a very powerful bullet which would have a great impact. Therefore it would also be the day when he is very down in luck. He remembers that before he was in the entertainment line, he read an article on (Deannie) Yip Tak Han which was very memorable for him. A few thousand words and her past was revealed clearly. After reading it, he felt so disgusted as he only needs to pay 10 or 8 dollars and he could read other's past. Anybody can even memorize it by heart. He even imagined that one day if he ever meet Yip on the streets, he would feel guilty even though she may not mind at all.

Many people have said the Hei likes to complain, Hei's very sensitive and thinks that Hei's always creating trouble. Hei feels that he's a human, he will voice out his opinion. Even if his opinion is not accepted, at least he had voiced it out. He said that he used to describe himself as a person who is responsible for his words but after the Lee Yuen For incident (in '97 when he was filming WPU, he was in loggerheads with Lee who is the producer. He was therefore blacklisted by TVB), he learned a lesson. He realised that he has to consider carefully every time he voices his opinion. He doesn't mind people who are less smart cos he's not smart either.

Sense of security. In the 7 years he's been in the entertainment line, the period during the Lee incident was his low luck days. He felt he couldn't say what he wanted to say, but no matter what, the bad days are already gone. After the incident, Hei met Lee on the streets but he didn't have much feelings. He didn't think that he has to explain things cos if he thinks that if one is right, he don't have to explain. Money has always been important to him cos he has to provide security for himself and his family. At least if his out of work for 3 months or if they need money for a big operation. However, money is unable to provide enough security for Hei. His main security comes from his own abilities. At least he could do his job as a radio program well, he can film painfully for half a year for Burning Flame, he can sacrifice for "Sum Yuen Yee Ma" (The Accident). This proves that he can still survive in this line, he still has market value. This is the only thing that he has full control. He is also very contented with his life now. He has just shifted into a 1000feet house with 2 friends. Also it's only a rented house but it's already a big improvement for him. Wong Hei reveals that he is even more protective of himself now cos he is older now and also because he was once betrayed. "I won't tell you things if I'm not familiar with you" he said. Therefore he is very careful with his words. When he was asked whether Leon Lau knows how to surf waves, he replied "ha, Leon's clothes are very expensive."
